A few weeks ago, we ran an article on the boyfriends, partners, and husbands of out gay celebrities such as Neil Patrick Harris, Chad Allen, and Elton John, and we learned something interesting:

So without further ado, we present more gay celebrity boyfriends:

Christopher Turner (Husband of Armistead Maupin)

In a plot right out of one of his Tales of the City books, author Armistead Maupin, 64, met his husband, Christopher Turner, 36, while walking down a San Francisco street, recognizing Turner from an inter-generational gay dating site he had founded (Maupin had been too shy to post his own pictures).

The two men’s 27-year age difference became the inspiration for Michael “Mouse” Tolliver’s relationship with a younger man in Maupin’s 2007 Tales novel, Michael Tolliver Lives.

“There are parts there that are based on us,” Turner told the San Francisco Chronicle of the book. “Michael Tolliver, in some ways, is like Armistead. But in many ways he's not. Same goes for Ben, the younger man. Some of the dynamics are similar to our relationship, sure. But I don't want to say which ones, for the record.”
