The Gay People’s Choice Awards Winners!

In the Favorite Female TV Star category Sally Field wins, but by far the most frequent write-in candidate was Tina Fey. Not only has her show, 30 Rock, been very gay-friendly, but Fey also gave the gays a big shout-out when accepting her Emmy award.

For Favorite Male TV Star, Neil Patrick Harris eked out a victory over close second Matthew Rhys. Both are worthy nominees, but score one for team gay!

The most popular write-in candidate (with a full 55% of the write-in vote): John Barrowman.

Favorite Male Musical Artist – Rufus Wainwright won this category propelled by his latest album and appearances on Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors" tour. Kanye West can console himself with all those Grammys he won Sunday night. Meanwhile, former Savage Garden frontman Darren Hayes led among the write-ins.

Among the women, Annie Lennox took an easy victory over closest competitor Amy Winehouse, which is a bit of a surprise. Most frequent write-in candidate? Feist.
