Yes, the look on his face ... very telling indeed.
The whole event was wonderful. As an Aussie I'm very proud of the way Matthew won his Gold Medal, and the way he behaved afterwards as well. A fantastic role model.
I wrote a letter in response to an Olympics article on Salon.com a couple of hours ago, asking why they had ignored the Mitcham story in favor of stories about Bolt Usain and chest-pounding. I checked back to see what kind of response I was getting, and--abracadabra--the entire article had been disappeared from the front page, including the letters! I was only able to find it by doing a search for Bolt. The article is called "Athletes are Just People" and it's dated August 25. Maybe it will resurface later. In the meantime, go figure.
Thank you for this, Michael
I appreciate the pictorial tribute. Getty Images must not have captured that quick little kiss on the cheek with Matthew and Lachlan?
Nope, it wasn't there.
Bit off topic but...
Thanks for the pictorial
Its a shame that picture could be found.
Still, Im taken by the next to last picture, where you can see Lachlan watching down on Matt. I find that picture very sweet and very telling.
Thanks again.

No figuring required
Joan Walsh strikes again!
She's undoubtedly asked Camille to pen an attack on Matthew for being a "sobbing sissy-boy"

The third Podium pic looks like he's so excited he's about to float away! Thanks for these pictures!

...or at least his webmaster does.
Has this been pointed out already? Matt's website links AE under the press section.
