Alexander McQueen, Fashion Designer To Stars Commits Suicide At Age 40

His own style was simple.

Alexander McQueen, fashion designer, is dead of an apparent suicide. He was only 40 years-old.

McQueen rose to stardom with the patronage of Isabella Blow of Tatler. He's designed women's wear shows that emphasized silhouettes with a touch of fantasy. In his career, he's been named British Fashion Designer of the Year four times, made suits for Prince Charles and been awarded the CBE by the queen.

Simple designs with a touch of the whimsical.

He was a favorite of models such as Kate Moss, and Naomi Campbell as well as favored by Hollywood stars like Sarah Jessica Parker.

His death comes a mere week before his show at London Fashion week.
