Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet Bring the Funny To the 14th Annual HRC National Dinner

On Saturday night in Washington, D.C., the Human Rights Campaign celebrated the year in gay rights. Three thousand gays and their allies packed into the Washington Convention Center to applaud how far we've come, and acknowledged how far we have yet to go.

Valerie Jarrett represented the White House, which no matter how you look at it, is a let down after President Obama himself attended last year's gala. Following the President is nearly impossible.

But what sells the tickets these days is the celebrities. So Pink received the Ally for Equality Award presented by Bette Midler. Mo'Nique presented out director Lee Daniels with the Visibility Award, and the Modern Family cast received the National Arts and Culture Award.

Sadly, Sofia Vergara wasn't able to make it at the last minute, but ever artful, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet worked her cleavage into their routine. Clearly they've got a good idea of just how subversive their show is when it comes to gay visibility

Ricky Martin is having a big year. His twins are starting to walk, he's come out as a gay man, his autobiography is due to be released soon, and he's working on a new album. His ability to use his star power, not only in the United States, but throughout Latin America in the cause of equality can't be underestimated. Plus he looks great in a tuxedo.

Is it me, but does he seem even sexier now that he's out?
