This Fall Brings a Different Kind of Homecoming At Dustin Lance Black's High School

Off the football field, a high school can still rally.

Live Out Loud is taking the It Gets Better Project a step further, and bringing the message to the schools. The purpose is to bring successful GLBT people into schools to bring the message that we're all different, and we all need to respect each other.

Dustin Lance Black returned to North Salinas High School and spoke to an assembly about Harvey Milk, about his life, and about the world at large. He was serious, he was funny, and he was approachable. He told his story, and listened to others. And he made a difference, which is all we can hope for ourselves in this life.

Alan Cumming narrates this video, and in his natural Scottish accent! He brings home Lance's message that we're all minorities. I hope the project continues to reach out to students.
