The 20 Most Popular Posts on AfterElton.com in 2010

It was a year of laughter, a year of tears. A year of hopes, and a year of fears. There was so much that we shared, that's it's time we're aware ... of the Top 20 Posts on AfterElton in 2010!

Some of the top 20 were no-brainers (Glee recaps and the Hot 100), while others surprised us with their popularity (who knew the Big Gay Battle was going to explode the way it did?)

Here's what you were reading this year:

1. The 2010 AfterElton.com Hot 100

For our fourth annual list, gay and bisexual male readers of AfterElton.com nominated over 1800 different men. Neil Patrick Harris topped the list for the 2nd year in a row, while soap star Scott Evans made an auspicious debut on the chart all the way up at #2. In addition to Scott, 30 other new faces made the list. It'll be interesting to see how many of them survive next year's turnover.

And you also totally grooved on reading who Neil's picks were for the Hot 100!

2. The Top 50 Gay Characters of All Time

This year featured upheaval among the Top 50 Gay Character List, with characters from Torchwood  taking two of the top three slots. Brothers & Sisters was also represented in the top 10, as well as the groundbreaking Will & Grace and Queer as Folk.

3. The Big Gay Battle

Who knew that our Gay/Bi Man of the Decade Poll would sweep the world the way it did. Okay, maybe that's a bit strong, but it was a huge deal for us. Neil Patrick Harris and John Barrowman fought it out on Twitter, and had powerful friends to back them up. When the dust settled, NPH was the clear winner, but in a way, didn't we all win?

4. Glee Recaps

Glee. Whether you loved it, hated it, loved to hate it, or felt completely indifferent to it but did love that adorable "Teenage Dream" video, It was the show of the year, and may prove to be groundbreaking in its portrayal of gay teen Kurt.

5. Spartacus Recaps

Thrilling battle scenes, palace intrigue, beefy gladiators, generous amounts of schlong (some of it real!), and two gay characters including the gay gladiator Barca! Thank you Starz, and we can't wait to see new gay gladiator Auctus in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.
