Aussie Rugby Player Nick Youngquest Isn't Keeping All His Eggs In One Baskit

Outside rugby, his interests are fashion and coffee.

We knew that rugby star Nick Youngquest was a great guy, flirting shamelessly on Twitter with his then-teammate Gareth Thomas, then appearing in the locker room with Thomas to dispel any lingering worries about having an out player on the team. We also knew he was smoking hot, having appeared nearly naked in DNA, Attitude, and for a cancer awareness campaign.

Nick was in the United States recently doing some modeling work, and that's turned out to be for Baskit Underwear. We had our first hint about how hot the campaign was this week when TMZ showed some behind-the-scenes video and called it "nearly pornographic." They may over oversold that aspect of it, but the video is must see for entirely different reasons.

The start of the video is Nick modeling the goods, and he does look great in his briefs. But then they kick into interview mode, and ask him about life, love and happiness. And that's when homosexuality comes up. Says Nick:

On my team, he came out. He'd been married in the past. He's a really influential player in union rugby. And yeah, he'd had a real tough time, in his life growing up, with being gay and not being able to come out because he was a rugby player. I thinkk that's a shame on the world that he should have to feel like that. Or shame on rugby probably more than anything and sport in general that he would have to feel like that.

I think that experience, with going through that sort of friendship with him and like showing other people that like, everyone is exactly the same as each other. He's not different because he's gay. Just because he's a gay rugby player doesn't mean he's different than me because I'm a rugby player.

So I think that's made me more approachable as a person, because I sort of see the glee in everything, try to see the good in everything and not have to worry about any sort of exterior motive that people might have.
