Dear AfterElton-consuming children all over the world: Holler to you and yours! I’m Louis Virtel, your new West Coast Entertainment Editor based in Los Angeles, and I’m here to jive and be tolerable. You might know me from my previous gig as a writer for Movieline.com, my current web series Verbal Vogueing, or my stints at the Chelsea Lately roundtable. You might also not know me, so let’s get further acquainted inside.

I’m thrilled to work for such an exciting site with fabulous commenters, professional and intimidating staff, and provocative pictures of The Vampire Diaries’ Michael Trevino. I hope to regale you with pop culture insight and heroic puns – maybe forever. You’ll learn more about me as the weeks pass, but here’s some essential knowledge: I’m gay, a diehard Jeopardy! zealot, a flagrant Midwesterner at heart, and my favorite dance songs are Madonna’s “Vogue,” Zhane’s “Hey Mr. DJ,” and Fran Lebowitz’s speech patterns.
