Battle of the Network Gays! It's Kevin & Scotty vs Calvin & Heath vs. Mitchell & Cameron vs. Cooper!

Every week we're going to pick the gays who made the biggest splash on television and let you, the keepers of the flame, decide who will be crowned Gay of the Week. We'll announce the winner the following Monday, and that champion will reign until a new set of challengers are unveiled the following week.

Kevin and Scotty, Brothers & Sisters

It's been a long journey towards becoming parents for Kevin and Scotty. Surrogacy turned out to be a long and expensive journey that didn't work out and couldn't be tried again. This week, they took their first steps towards adopting a child, including attending an adoption fair where one adorable girl quickly took to the couple. Hopefully, their efforts to become parents will soon find success.

Calvin and Heath, Greek

While Calvin didn't get much screen time this week, fans got something they've been wanting for a long time. A couple years after their first hook-up, Calvin and Heath are now a couple. In Greek's season premiere, they openly kissed at the Cyprus-Rhodes University graduation and again at a Omega Chi/Kappa Tau toga party.

It's a sign of how far the two characters and the Cyprus-Rhodes campus have come. Calvin and Heath wouldn't have made a good couple when we first met them, but we've seen Calvin in several relationships since then and it's become clearer they're now at a similar place in life. Meanwhile, seeing them kiss in public brings to mind the way Calvin's Omega Chi brothers reacted when they first learned he is gay as well as Grant's struggle with coming out. Now, Calvin can kiss Heath in the midst of his Omega Chi brothers without the slightest reaction from them.

Officer John Cooper, Southland

The season premiere of Southland gave us more of both Cooper's personal and professional life. As he continued to struggle with back pain and prescription pill addiction, we saw why John Cooper refuses to take some time off for recovery.

Cooper was one of many officers who arrived at a robbery gone wrong, one where a fellow officer was shot. Cooper organized his fellow officers into a surprisingly-brilliant maneuver to save his injured colleague. While we're eager to see more of his personal life, it's great to start the season with a reminder that Cooper is amazing in his professional life. Hopefully, he'll learn to trust his law enforcement colleagues and allow himself some time off to deal with pain and addiction.

Mitchell and Cameron, Modern Family

Mitchell and Cameron got a sexy new neighbor this week. On most sitcoms, that would be the beginning of plenty of jealous fights and hormonal immature behavior. Instead, they fought over Mitchell's judgmental nature coming out again and Cameron's quick-to-trust nature, a nice break from a tired sitcom trope and a continuation of what we know about them.

Vote for your favorite by Noon EST Sunday. Be sure to check back on Monday to see who you've picked as Gay of the Week!
