Battle of the Network Gays! It's Andrew vs. Teddy vs. Max vs. Mitchell & Cameron!

Every week we're going to pick the gays who made the biggest splash on television and let you, the keepers of the flame, decide who will be crowned Gay of the Week. We'll announce the winner the following Monday, and that champion will reign until a new set of challengers are unveiled the following week.

Here are this week's nominees:

Andrew van de Kamp, Desperate Housewives

As part of recovering from alcohol abuse, Andrew made a list of the people he hurt with his drinking and worked to make amends. Andrew put Carlos at the top of that last , since he hit Carlos' mother with his car while driving drunk several years ago.

Bree tried to stop him from having that discussion with Carlos, eventually spilling the beans at an inopportune time. When it mattered, he insisted that Bree stop trying to step in and protect him. This time, he wanted to clean up his own mess, a sign of maturity that we hope will still be a part of Andrew when we see him again.

Teddy Montgomery, 90210

Coming out to his friends at West Beverly High was a tough and slow process for Teddy. With that experience behind him, he was able to come out to his former roommate (and first crush) Tripp, a moment of bravery that earned Teddy a hook up with Tripp.

Before his one-night stand, Teddy swore he wasn't looking for anything with any strings attached. However, after learning he was just a diversion in Tripp's open relationship, he came to realize he was ready for something more meaningful, after all, setting him up for a future we can't wait to see.

Max Blum, Happy Endings

When we met Max last week, he was clearly someone comfortable discussing his sexuality with his friends. This week, his parents are a different matter. For years, Max had been telling them that Penny was his girlfriend, an act that seems to have worked even though he's awful at pretending to be straight. Thanks to Penny discovering her appreciation of (Doug) Hitler and Jane making a terrible first impression as Max's new beard, he eventually ended up coming out to his parents.

One of Max's reasons for pretending to have a relationship was to prevent his mother from trying to set him up with her friends' single daughters. For a moment he thought coming out would remedy that, except that it quickly turned out that his mother also had friends with single, gay sons. Good thing for him his straight roommate Dave was ready to step up and pretend to be his boyfriend..

Mitchell Pritchett & Cameron Tucker, Modern Family

This week Mitchell and Cameron dealt with a question many parents face: Who should care for their child if they were suddenly out of the picture? It wasn't an easy debate, Claire and Phil seemed too busy, Jay seemed too judgmental and Mitchell objected to the idea of sending Lily to live in another part of the country with Cameron's family. Thankfully, Manny was able to help them break the impasse by revealing Jay's quietly nurturing side. The power of Modern Family comes in how Cameron and Mitchell are an equal part of the family drama and, once again, we got to see a gay couple dealing with a universal concern for parents.

Vote for your favorite by Midnight PST Sunday. Be sure to check back on Monday to see who you've picked as Gay of the Week!
