Battle of the Network Gays! It's Nakia vs Max vs. Brent & Josh vs. Renly & Loras!

Every week we're going to pick the gays who made the biggest splash on television and let you, the keepers of the flame, decide who will be crowned Gay of the Week. We'll announce the winner the following Monday, and that champion will reign until a new set of challengers are unveiled the following week.

Here are this week's nominees:

Nakia, The Voice

This week, it was out singer Nakia's turn to battle a fellow member of Team Cee-Lo and in singing Ne-Yo's "Closer" he used his bold and powerful voice to get a win over the more melodic Tje.

As much as Nakia's impressive voice can be credited for the win, his ability to take direction certainly helped. Cee-Lo advised him not to be too calculated in his performance, to let his performance be ruled by the emotion of the song as he performed. Following that direction, Nakia won over the audience, making it clear that he commanded the stage. This kind of performance has us eager to see what he brings to the live episodes of The Voice.

Max Blum, Happy Endings

This week, we didn't get to see Max's best side as he convinced Dave to start a fight with the guy who disrupted Dave's wedding (even starting the fight after Dave ended up bonding with the guy).

However, it also became clear how loyal and protective Max feels towards his friends. As misplaced as his Steven Seagal fantasies were, they were born out of a desire to make Dave feel better about being left at the altar. Max's loyalty came through again when Penny tried to reconnect with a rock star years after they had a one-night stand, and Max was there to stand up for her. Once again, we're thrilled to see another gay character we can appreciate for his complexity.

Brent Ridge & Josh Kilmer-Purcell, The Fabulous Beekman Boys

For two seasons, a major tension for Brent and Josh has been their two-city living arrangement, with Josh working and living in Manhattan during the week while Brent focused on building the Beekman 1802 business. Josh felt that he was stuck working to support Brent as he got to pursue his dream.

This week, they discussed this source of tension after Brent had the chance to take a medical job in Sharon Springs. Brent was unwilling to go back into medicine after leaving the field a long time ago, but after some discussion, they came up with a compromise. Marriage takes work for every couple. Thanks to this season of The Fabulous Beekman Boys, we saw a rare glimpse of a gay couple working at keeping their marriage thriving.

Renly Baratheon & Loras Tyrell, Game of Thrones

Gay viewers of HBO's fantasy drama have been waiting to see the relationship between prince Renly Baratheon and the charismatic "Knight of the Flowers" Ser Loras Tyrell become a part of the action, and this week we finally saw the two together ... and what a combination they make!

In a show full of nobles scheming to gain more power, Renly and Loras appear to be well-suited to the intrigue. We saw Loras push Renly to work towards taking the throne in between, er, intimate moments. Considering all the scheming going on, it should be interesting to see how their schemes fit into all the other plots.

Vote for your favorite by Midnight PST Sunday. Be sure to check back on Monday to see who you've picked as Gay of the Week!
