The special program concludes with more Code-Busting films. 1962's Advise and Consent reflects the first time a gay bar was depicted in film. The program concludes with 1968's The Killing of Sister George tells the tale of lesbians living in London and is intriguingly described as "similar to The Boys in the Band.

Top Chef (Bravo) 11:00 PM EDT
I'm still surprised at how much the series has improved in this third seaason. This time around the food competition has been pretty compelling. If you gave up on Top Chef in its drama-heavy second season, the third season has nicely focused on the talent over the drama again ... and if you want more fun, be sure to check out Steven Frank's recap of the show.

I thought Thursday was supposed to be the day when the networks put the DVR into overdrive, not Wednesday? I think I'll still be watching shows I record today when the weekend comes around.

As the World Turns (CBS) 1:00 PM EDT
According to today's show description, "Luke can't suppress his feelings for Noah" and yesterday's preview promised the scene where their hands accidentally touch (like I said, adorably retro.) And it only took them two and a half weeks to get to this point. And remember to vote for the storyline, if you haven't already! Or even if you have.

Comedies are featured tonight, including Doris Roberts in 1931's Manhattan Parade, Katherine Hepburn in 1935's Sylvia Scarlett, Cary Grant and Doris Day in 1962's Touch of Mink, Mel Brooks' 1963 classic The Producers as well as Lauren Bacall's 1957 film, Designing Women.

Did you catch the previews for this week's As the World Turns? Apparently, Luke and Noah do the bit where one of them drops a stack of something and their hands touch in picking it up. I've decided to find it to be adorably retro. If I find out which day this happens, I'll mention it here, though the spoiler fairy seems to think viewers are only interested in Carly, Chloe and Meg.

The View (ABC) 11:00 AM EDT
Mario Cantone stops by for another visit as Margaret Cho is scheduled to guest-host. I'm expecting liveliness to happen when the two share a couch. For a taste of what Mario got up to last time he stopped by, check out this recap.

Tonight they're screening a selection of horror films. Most of the films are described as having a lesbian subtext, save for The Picture of Dorian Gray, but films like The Uninvited and The Haunting (with Julie Harris) are great examples of horror filmmaking -- they effectively evoke an eerie atmosphere and quiet chills -- that are well worth checking out.

Paper Dolls (Sundance Channel) 9:00 PM EDT
This 2006 documentary looks at a quartet for transgender Filipino caregivers working in Israel who also work in nightclubs as drag performers.

Tonight's films cover the theme of "The Dark Side: Film Noir and Crime" including Suddenly, Last Summer (the Gore Vidal adaptation of a Tennessee Williams play), Marlon Brando in Reflections in a Golden Eye, Rita Hayworth in Gilda and ending with The Maltese Falcon.

Hidden Palms (The CW) 8:00 PM EDT
I know there's a lot to dislike about this show but it works for me as light summer entertainment. What can I say, I also watched Windfall last year. So far, Leslie Jordan has been fairly prominent as Johnny's sponsor, Jessie Jo, which helps make Hidden Palms more watchable.

Top Chef (Bravo) 10:00 PM EDT
As someone who loves to cook, I've had a love/hate relationship with this show, but I'm getting excited about tonight's third season premiere. Ted Allen is joining the show as a judge. (Be sure to check out our interview with Allen.) He's judged the occasional Iron Chef America episode and really knows how to talk about a dish in a way that a television audience can almost taste it. Also, last week's reunion challenge had plenty of good cooking action.

If you're looking for someone to cheer for out of the gate, Ted named Dale (pictured to the right) as "someone that our community will come to know and love very well".

Tonight's films fall under the theme of "Men and Women Behind Bars." You can catch the men behind bars in 1932's Hell's Highway and 1957's The Strange One. Since this makes me think of HBO's prison drama, Oz, it seems apt that one of tonight's sapphic films features Rita Moreno playing an inmate in 1950's So Young, So Bad.

Reporter Zero (Logo) 5:30 PM EDT
This documentary takes a look at the work of the pioneer, gay journalist Randy Shilts, who actively wrote about AIDS when it was an emerging threat and later wrote the books The Mayor of Castro Street, And the Band Played On and Conduct Unbecoming. Shilts' AIDS reporting was controversial for his calls to close the bathhouses, one of the topics of this biography.

Kinsey (Independent Film Channel) 10:00 PM EDT
Liam Neeson plays Alfred Kinsey, who changed western society with his research into human sexuality. This film is fascinating for its portrayal of how people perceived sex before Kinsey challenged those views. As Kinsey's bisexual assistant, Peter Sarsgaard never turns off his smoldering look.
