Candis Cayne at Dirty Sexy Money premiere

ABC's Dirty Sexy Money premieres tonight at 10:00. The new night-time sudser focuses on the shenanigans of a rich New York family named the Darlings. The cast attended a kickoff party last night in Hollywood sponsored by Bulgari. Front and center and looking gorgeous was Candis Cayne, the transgender actress who plays Billy Baldwin's love interest. The rest of the cast looks great too, although is it just me or does Billy Baldwin look like he's tossed back one too many?

I have to say, my main interest in this show is seeing how they handle the transgender storyline. Spoilers hint that Candis Cayne's character threatens to go public with their affair when Billy Baldwin's character attempts to break up with her. I hope she's not simply made out to be a villain. Still, with Brothers & Sisters alums Greg Berlanti and Craig Wright running this show, my guess is the subject matter will be treated with respect. (Or at least as much respect as you can get on a night-time soap.)

More photos of Candis and the rest of the cast after the break.

To Make a Long Story Short ... Krause talks Six Feet Under, Sally plays first lady, and more!

  • Brothers & Sisters' war-hating matriarch Sally Field will play former first lady Mary Todd Lincoln in Steven Spielberg's upcoming biopic of the great leader. Out playwright Tony Kushner (Angels in America, Munich) is set to script.
  • For you Six Feet Under fans: Peter Krause, on the eve of the bow of his new show, Dirty Sexy Money, talks all things Nate. I particularly like that they point out that his last name rhymes with "wowzah". I'll say it does!
  • in GQ, Stephen Colbert lists the things that are making him gay, and AfterElton.com is not among them. Frowny-face.
  • Our pal Michael Portantiere has some great snaps of out actors David Hyde Pierce, Christopher Sieber, Jim J. Bullock and more at the Broadway Flea Market fundraiser.
