News, Reviews & Commentary on Gay and Bisexual Men in Entertainment and the Media

Jamie Bamber

To Make a Long Story Short ... Brand hearts Craig, Halo 3 players hate GayBoy, and more!

  • The GLAAD PSA featuring Battlestar Galactica's Jamie Bamber that premiered on Sci Fi this past weekend is now available online. Beardy!
  • British TV personality Russell Brand has a heterosexual man-crush on Daniel Craig. Okay, show me one straight man who DOESN'T have a heterosexual on at least one of the flavors of James Bond.
  • Homophobia hath no fury like a bunch of Halo 3 players who find a pink Masterchief in their midst with the handle "xxxGayBoyxxx". (Warning, video has NSFW and thoroughly disgusting language.)
  • Singapore pulls its head out its ass long enough to give permission to Christian singers Jason and deMarco to soil their island nation's precious soil by peforming a concert for high risk groups that are over eighteen.

  • Today would have been the 72nd birthday of late, gay entertainer Wayland Flowers, of Wayland and Madame fame. If you're not familiar with his work, check this out.

To Make a Long Story Short ... Queersighted goes dark, Scrubs is gay, and more!

  • QueerSighted, AOL's LGBT site, has been shuttered amidst insinuations of homophobia and political maneuvering from the former staff. We hear ya, guys ... these Logo people? Total 'phobes.
  • Queerty found this odd Gay Heritage video ("brought to you by Yellowpages.travel and SearchBoth.com") that includes Barry Manilow and Anderson Cooper in its gay celeb photo montage. Thanks, guys. Break my mother's heart TWICE, why don'cha?
  • Scrubs is already the gayest show without an actual gay character as last week's episode proved yet again. Not only did we have our usual allotment of gay cracks (as always, not anti-gay) but we also got this pretty hot reenactment of Tom Cruise's underwear scene from Risky Business.

Jamie Bamber's GLAAD PSA to debut on Sci Fi this weekend

Here's a sure-fire holiday hangover cure for you science fiction fans: GLAAD has announced that the latest PSA in their "Be an Ally & a Friend" campaign featuring towel-ready Battlestar Galactica hunk Jamie Bamber will premiere on the net immediately following the highly-anticipated Battlestar Galactica: Razor miniseries this Saturday.

This is great news on a number of levels. One, the miniseries is one of the hottest tickets of the TV season and the placement of a 20-second message of understanding from Bamber (along with Ugly Betty's Eric Mabius, Brothers & Sisters' Jason Lewis, and Carpoolers' Jerry O'Connell) is prime. And two, given how many gay fans Bamber has made (he ranked an impressive #25 in the AfterElton Hot 100), it's great to see him speaking out in this campaign.

Sneak peek at GLAAD's new PSA: Transgender Day of Remembrance

Next Tuesday, November 20th, is the Transgender Day of Remembrance, which memorializes those who have died as a result of anti-transgender violence or prejudice. To commemorate the day, GLAAD has released a new PSA in their "Be an Ally & a Friend" campaign that features transgender actress Alexandra Billings, T.R. Knight, Rex Lee, Jamie Bamber and more.

Check out the video after the jump, and head on over to GLAAD's website for more on the campaign.
