The controversial inner-city drama from an openly gay director has become the biggest Sundance buy, and now has two media powerhouses behind its release.
Today's new DVD releases offer a mixed bag of hilarious (Vicky Cristina Barcelona, The Secret Policeman's Balls), thought-provoking (Black Is...Black Ain't), sexy (Whirlwind and Schoolboy Crush) and campy (fourTroy Donahue vehicles).
Gay filmmaker Lee Daniels (Monster's Ball, Shadowboxer) is the toast of Park City with three awards for Push, a drama about an oppressed inner-city teen girl and the teacher who saves her.
The NCAAP Image Award nominees include Noah's Arc: Jumping the Broom, E. Lynn Harris and gay roles from Paul James, Michael K. Williams and Blair Underwood.
