The Gay Agenda video blog: Wright to marriage

The Gay Agenda returns today (Jay was out of town traveling for a bit. So jealous!) and today’s topics are the big ones of the week: The Obama/Wright fall-out and hashing out last Sunday’s NY Times Magazine cover story on gay marriage. (Now, if only we could get Rev. Wright to preside at some gay weddings, all of these stories could come full circle, right?)

The Gay Agenda video blog: Kerry Eleveld talks interviewing Obama for "The Advocate"

We're thrilled to feature a very special episode of the Gay Agenda video blog featuring Kerry Eleveld, the writer and news editor from The Advocate who conducted the much-hyped interview with Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama that ran today.

In today's vlog, John Polly (Jennifer Vanasco is traveling and couldn't join) sits down with Eleveld to discuss how the interview came about, the different ways in which Obama and Hillary Clinton have connected with gay voters, and just how big of a "rock star" persona Obama really has face-to-face. (Hint: A big one.)

The Gay Agenda video blog: Why gay marriage doesn't matter?

This week on The Gay Agenda: Jennifer Vanasco and John Polly try to figure out what "Gay marriage doesn't matter" means when spoken by a Democratic presidential candidate.

Plus, why it sucks to be gay come tax time, and the truth behind the candidates' first jobs. Who was the kiddie pool enforcer? Who hurt themselves scooping ice cream? Check it out.

The Gay Agenda video blog: Obamarama!

This week on The Gay Agenda: Did the race speech change our minds? Jennifer Vanasco and John Polly swoon over Barack Obama's historic speech - but disagree about the impact. Check it out.

The Gay Agenda video blog: Alright, which one of you pissed off Sally Kern?

Just what is going on with Sally Kern? In this week's Gay Agenda, Jennifer Vanasco and John Polly speculate about why the Oklahoma state senator went off on her anti-gay, "homosexuals are worse than terrorists" rant. Did she have a fight with her florist? Did the lesbians next door buy a spiffy new Subaru?

This, plus why we should take over Oklahoma, on The Gay Agenda. Check it out.

The Gay Agenda video blog: What should Hillary do now?

Jay Vanasco from 365Gay and John Polly from NewNowNext proudly present the next Visible Vote 08 “Gay Agenda” vlog.

Next Tuesday’s big Texas/Ohio/Vermont/Rhode Island primary is looming, and Barack Obama is the current front-runner. The media is still swirling in its pro-Obama love fest mode, and Hillary Clinton’s campaign has practically been on put on some kind of death-watch by the mainstream press.

Is this fair? Is this accurate? What do you think Hillary should do at this point?

And ultimately … Is it more radical to have a woman as President than an African-American male? Hmmmm … Watch this week’s “Gay Agenda” vlog below, and tell us what you think.

The Gay Agenda video blog: Let's cruise!

Jay Vanasco from 365Gay and John Polly from NewNowNext proudly present the next Visible Vote 08 “Gay Agenda” vlog.

Feeling Primary fatigue? Ready for a winter break? Jay and John certainly are. So, they’re hitting the high seas for the first-ever Visible Vote political cruise! Ready to sail?

Taking the lead from the NY Times report on the Love-Boaty voyage hosted by the super-progressive mag The Nation, we think it’s time to mount our own gay boat trip. Dennis Kucinich is on board, Jocelyn Elders is our ship’s doctor, some Kennedys are tending bar and we’ve even drafted those strapping Romney boys as lifeguards. And since it’s a cruise, you know Rosie O’Donnell’s on board somewhere, arguing.

Check it out after the break!

New Vlog! The Gay Agenda from Visible Vote 08

Jay Vanasco from 365Gay and John Polly from NewNowNext proudly present the Visible Vote 08 “Gay Agenda” vlog. We're actually a few days behind in getting this up (going forward we'll be bringing to you at the end of each week), but it's never too late to join the debate about the current state of political affairs. And it’s time to play “Make Me a Super Delegate!”

Scoot over Tyson Beckford! Jay and John are here to help you decipher what all this current furor over “Super Delegates” is all about. What ARE they anyway? Who are they? And could they really corrupt the entire Presidential candidate nominating proces?

The answers to these questions and more (like where the gay vote currently stands in regards to the Democratic hopefuls, for one) await. Watch and discuss!
