Christian & Olli

"Forbidden Love" video clip update: Dr. Feelgood and dirty money

The latest batch of Christian and Olli scenes are not exactly the most romantic ... in fact, the two men aren't even on screen together. But given that the scenes allow us a peek into their individual lives and that in his scenes Olli is faced with a pretty big decision, we thought we'd include them here.

Christian's day at No Limits is pretty much taken up by giving free beer therapy (the best kind!) to Judith, who is still having issues with Fabian. Afterward he takes her upstairs to ply her with pills (okay, they're only aspirin ... but still!), which brings her face-to-face with the guy that Bat Boy pummeled. What do we learn from these scenes? Christian's answer to a problem is booze and pills. My kinda guy!

Meanwhile, across town at No Limits 2.0, Olli is working when Olivia stops by to use him as an unwitting money-laundering machine. When we catch up with him after a night of clubbing, he's apparently grabbed the Jose Cuervo bottle instead of his Drakkar Noir, as his coworker tells him that he smells like a Tiajuana whorehouse. But when he finds out that the bill that Olivia gave him yesterday was involved with the kidnapping, he snaps out of his agave-induced haze and realizes he has a tough decision to make.

By the way, am I the only one who hadn't noticed the Olli/Olivia thing until now? It's like Victor/Victoria! If we find out that Olivia is actually Olli in drag this will officially be the best television show EVER.

"Forbidden Love" video clip update: The swimsuit competition

Apparently the bulk of the latest Forbidden Love episode deals with Gregor's budding affair with aspiring fashion photographer Rebecca ... I wouldn't really know because I was distracted by the most important contribution that the episode makes to the Christian/Olli canon:

Swimsuit Fashion Shoot!

Yes, our beloved German gays (and Gregor) are stuffed into some board shorts and dragged to a lake to model for Rebecca's project, and we're treated to almost 3 solid minutes of hilarious J.C. Penney catalogue poses and horseplay. While Olli is clearly the showboat of the group, I have to ask if Gregor has a license to carry those guns ... shouldn't he be the one boxing?!

Anyway, after that the boys just kind of make fun of Gregor as he tries not to flirt with Rebecca, and at the end of the scene treat us to a rather hilarious tandem "Tchuuuuusss!" as they wave her out of No Limits. What's German for "Fairy Godfathers"?

Forbidden Love clip update:"Meet my roomate Chrissie."

Not much going on romantically in this episode between Christian & Olli, although in one early scene Olli teasingly calls his partner “Chrissie.”  Is it possible for these two to get overly familiar with each other?  (Actually, no.)

Today’s episode is more about Christian’s brother Gregor and his hamhanded attempts to get close with a pretty girl named Rebecca.  Rebecca needs three really hot guys to model her swimwear collection. Fortunately for us viewers, she manages to rope in Olli, Christian, and Gregor for the project.  Me, I’m looking forward to the next episode where I expect we’ll be treated to the actual photo shoot.

We don't quite get there this episode though, as Rebecca finds herself stranded on a rowboat with  Gregor. I can think of worse places to be.

Forbidden Love clip update: What a tangled web we weave...

I need everyone to keep a secret for me, okay? It's a national holiday here in the U.S. and I'm not supposed to be working, but I was watching this week's Forbidden Love clips when the latest turned up. Well, I watched it and figured I might as well post it, especially for anyone in the States who does have to work today or fans elsewhere who want to know what happens next for our boys. Just don't tell Brian or Brent that I posted on my day off!

Anyway, in today's installment, Axel keeps muddling around and is apparently so concerned that Christian not be cuckolded that he's taken to following Judith and Fabian around Dusseldorf. Either that or we're starting to see some soap opera elements creep into the story and Axel just happens to be in the park the same time as Fabith. Either way, it's a bit clunky in an Oakdale sort of way.

Strolling around the park, Fabith continues their tiresome discussion about her being Christian's beard, how hard it is on Fabian, wah wah wah. Someone posted in the comments that the beard storyline was getting old and I wholeheartedly agree. Definitely time to move on and fortunately the sotry does just that thanks to Axel getting a wee bit more assertive.

Hmm, just what kind of go is Axel really interested in? And with whom

Yes. Yes, it is. I'll be glad once we move past the beard storyline and Christian's coming out to the world. Forbidden Love has handled it relatively well, but I'm really interested in seeing a storyline that is about them as couple without the "gay" stuff being central to the plot. I know it's a soap and there need be conflict, but I think the writers of VL can give us something a bit more original than this.

Finally, I'm leaving you with a picture of Olli gazing adoringly upon Christian just because Olli looks so darn adorable!

"Forbidden Love" video clip update: Broken Axel

Today's Forbidden Love clip pushes the Judith-as-beard story hopefully that much closer to its resolution when blithely sociopathic boxer Axel jumps head-first into Christian's private life. Seriously, what is it with these boxing types being such busybodies? Why are all these macho men so overwhelmed by an all-encompassing need to know where Christian is sowing his oats? It's like Querelle with boxing gloves.

Anyway, Axel goes totally off the rails in this one, which is actually pretty fun. And after the speculation in the comments that Axel might be after more than just sparring practice with Christian, I'll admit that I initially took this line to mean something else entirely:

Is that what the kids are calling it now? After all, "rosebud" is just soooo Citizen Kane...

"Forbidden Love" video clip update: The longer you let your beard grow, the harder it is to shave it off

In today's Forbidden Love (Verbotene Liebe) clip update, we continue the discussion started in our last update: namely, that Olli thinks Christian should pretend to date Judith in order to throw aggressive boxer Axel off his gay scent.

Christian isn't too hip to the idea, but when Olli tells him that it would kill him to see Christian throw away his career for him, it kinda gets to the guy and he sorta agrees to go along with it.

But not for long! It seems Batboy Fabian isn't too keen on the idea of letting his gal suck face with other guys in public, and Christian realizes that it's not fair to everyone and he should come clean.

Does this happen? Of course not! This is a soap, after all, and Christian does still frequent No Limits, which not only has physics-defying acoustics but also has a gravitational pull that draws only the most inconvenient visitors at precisely the wrong moments.

Seriously, a Starbucks would solve all these boys' problems.

Check out the ep after the jump! There's not much to it, but the early bit with Olli and Christian is at least two-pump skinny iced mocha sweet.

"Forbidden Love" video clip update: Of gay snowmen and fairy roommates

Today's Forbidden Love takes us to a magical realm filled with gay snowmen, fairy flatmates, and karate-kicking lesbian ninjas. It's like Kung Fu Panda, only without the accompanying motion sickness!

When we last left Christian and Olli, they'd been spotted on the street hugging by Christian's boxing promoter. This being a soap and all, it only serves to complicate the situation, and their ruse is drawn out for another episode as Christian pretends to be the innocent straight object of predatory gay lust.

But ever the homophobe, Captain Pervy Wolle isn't having it, and even finds the time to stalk Christian in attempts to get Olli out of his life. Anyone else think the promoter doth protest too much? Either way, Olli had better watch his back, because if our American soaps have taught us anything, it's that when your closeted boyfriend's older male protector gets wise to your gay ways, you'd better duck ... especially in an environment like No Limits where there are plenty of deadly projectile breakfast pastries on-hand.

The real kicker in this episode is in the closing preview, in which something a long time coming finally happens in regards to Christian's brother, Gregor. Ooooooh!

"Forbidden Love" video clip update: Business as usual for Christian and Olli

Nothing too terribly exciting happened with our adorable German soap couple yesterday, with both Christian and Olli going to work and dealing with the drama of their friends and colleagues. It is a bit interesting to note, though, that in this particular soap, the one gay man has darker hair and an apparent coffee fixation, and the other is fair-haired and a compulsive urge to help his friends iron out their issues. Sound familiar?

Either Olli is blowing Christian a kiss, or he wants a cigarette.

Anyway, today's scenes demonstrate that not every day in a young gay man's life can be roses and rapture, as there are bills to pay and coffee to brew. Let's just hope that these fellas don't give our Stateside couple a run for their geld in the dry spell department.

All of yesterday's scenes appear in one clip after the break, with subtitling of course courtesy of Nanna and uploading thanks to Gays of Daytime. Enjoy! (Note there is some NSFW language in the opening confrontation with Gregor. If you have any sensitive-eared German co-workers you may want to turn down the volume.)
