Verboten Liebe

Matthew Rhys plays gay again, "Sex & the City" leaves us in the lurch, "Verbotene Liebe" reigns supreme!

"Forbidden Love" video clip update: Steroids are for cheaters!

Today's Forbidden Love update begins with the rather shocking image of Fabian (or, as Dennis likes to call him, "Bat Boy") serenading Judith, which kicks off one of the more bizarre episodes to date.

But as the assorted warblings don't have much to do with Christian and Olli, let's catch up with them first. Christian is pushing forward on his boxing career with his slimy new agent. What's really great to watch here is a male couple being supportive of each other in ways that have nothing to do with their sexuality. The issue confronting Christian isn't about whether or not to come out, but how hard to push for his chance in the ring. And Olli is right there to cheer him on just like any supportive partner. And when the issue of steroids comes up, Olli is right there to have his say about that. And how great is it to see a gay boxer anyway? Pretty damned great, I'd say.

So will Christian shoot up for his career? Either way, based on this promising VL news, it looks like the gay couple will still be around come August, when this rather shocking kiss will take place:

Meanwhile, back at No Limits, it's karaoke night, with the other players engaging in some of the most scattershot singing since the Buffy musical episode (yes, Willow, I'm talking to you.).

"Forbidden Love" video clip update: Trivial pursuits

Christian and Olli popped up briefly on the German soap Forbidden Love (Verboten Liebe) again yesterday, in the form of sounding boards and quiz masters.

Yes, Christian has taken it upon himself to subject the customers of the coffee shop to a "pub quiz", which seems like just about the best way to ruin a good croissant I can think of. The setup is mostly there to put Gregor in competition with his rival Sebastian (who looks a bit like a grizzled Jared Padalecki), so the gay fellas really don't have much to do.

Anyone know the German for "Cute Dean"?

"Forbidden Love" video clip update: Foosball and tonsil tennis

Christian and Olli popped up briefly on the German soap Forbidden Love (Verboten Liebe) yesterday, although the story revolved mostly around their roommate's man troubles. The first time she enters the flat, they're playing foosball. And the second time she enters ... they're playing tonsil tennis!

Really not much there, but at least we get the idea that they're enjoying one another's balls company when they're offscreen.

"Forbidden Love" video clip update: Business as usual for Christian and Olli

Nothing too terribly exciting happened with our adorable German soap couple yesterday, with both Christian and Olli going to work and dealing with the drama of their friends and colleagues. It is a bit interesting to note, though, that in this particular soap, the one gay man has darker hair and an apparent coffee fixation, and the other is fair-haired and a compulsive urge to help his friends iron out their issues. Sound familiar?

Either Olli is blowing Christian a kiss, or he wants a cigarette.

Anyway, today's scenes demonstrate that not every day in a young gay man's life can be roses and rapture, as there are bills to pay and coffee to brew. Let's just hope that these fellas don't give our Stateside couple a run for their geld in the dry spell department.

All of yesterday's scenes appear in one clip after the break, with subtitling of course courtesy of Nanna and uploading thanks to Gays of Daytime. Enjoy! (Note there is some NSFW language in the opening confrontation with Gregor. If you have any sensitive-eared German co-workers you may want to turn down the volume.)
