Blood Work

Blood Work "True Blood" video blog 12: Fangs for the Memories

After taking a few days over the Thanksgiving break to visit our were-cat families and stuff ourselves silly, Andy and I are back for the final Blood Work vlog of the season. (Don't cry ... it will just water the seedlings of your pain.)

In this final episode, we show off our official Fangtasia t-shirts, complain about the mountain of suck that was Twilight and drop gratuitous Annie references as we chew on True Blood's big cliffhanger season finale, which left us wanting more.

Blood Work "True Blood" video blog 11: Sometimes, dead is better.

Pardon my reference to the 90's nonclassic horror movie Pet Sematary, but in this week's Blood Work (much like the True Blood episode that inspired it) we learn that sometimes it's best to leave dead enough alone.

Yes, much like babyvamp Jessica, Andy has returned from the grave ... with a few noticeable differences. Join us as we discuss the penultimate episode of the ever-wacky vampire series, complete with mysterious social workers, a fresh corpse, and a big reveal months in the making.

Blood Work "True Blood" video blog Ep. 10: I go through more boyfriends that way...

Inspired by Eddie, Jason and Amy's twisted little game of "vampire house", Andy and I decided this week to tie Andy to a lawnchair to discuss Episode 10 of True Blood.

Um ... it didn't go so well.

In lighter news, we were delighted to learn that this week the folks at HBO have made Blood Work the featured item on the show's official fan page. We're thrilled to be spreading our foul gospel to more fans of the show, and even more thrilled at the special presents they were kind enough to send us ... which we'll be featuring next week. If you run into any new folks in the darkened hallways of the comments section, do give them a friendly AfterElton welcome!

Blood Work "True Blood" video blog Ep 9: We're here, we're were-cats, get used to it!

In honor of a Very Big Thing happening in last Sunday's episode of True Blood, Andy and I decided to record this week's Blood Work vlog in our true form.

Yes, we're cats.

But tails, short attention spans and squishy-soft bellies don't get in the way of our recapping this week's wonderfully wacky episode in all its bloody glory ... check it all out, after the break!

Blood Work "True Blood" video blog Ep. 8: Pumpkin guts and muddy buttocks

Sorry that this week's Blood Work vlog is a day late, but I had the flu. Rest assured that I have been flogged for my insolence.

In this very special episode, my better half Andy and I carve True Blood Jack-O-Lanterns and discuss the latest episode, in which all kinds of crazy crap went down. (If you'd like to make your own Vampire Bill-o-Lantern or Fangtasia Gourd, the templates are available over here.)

Tacky gay vampires, dirty cemetery sex, ice cream sundaes and more ... check it all out, after the break!

Blood Work "True Blood" video blog Ep. 7: Curl up by the fire with horror hunk Joe Zaso

In this week's Blood Work vlog, I'm thrilled to welcome horror himbo Joe Zaso (Barricade, Nikos the Impaler). Actually, he technically welcomes me, after last week's pecan-pie-inspired fugue sends me out into a raging storm with nothing but a candelabra to light my way. Regardless, Joe is kind enough to let me warm my bits beside his raging fake fire, and we take the opportunity to discuss this week's extra-sexy episode of True Blood.

Blood Work "True Blood" video blog Ep. 6: Nelsan Ellis and some damn good pie

This week's Blood Work video blog is a very special one, for a few reasons.

First, it involves a pecan pie. And if you've seen last night's episode of True Blood you'll know how passionate some people can be about their pecan pie!

But even more exciting is this week's special guest: Nelsan Ellis. Yes, the actor who plays Bon Temps's sassiest and most dangerous short-order cook (slashdrugdealerslashprostitute) stopped in to chat about the show and you'll see a tease of the interview (which will run on the mainpage in the next few weeks) in this week's vlog.

Blood Work "True Blood" video blog Ep. 5: Home Sweet House of Horrors

For this week’s edition of Blood Work, I visited the insane horror museum apartment of NYC horror filmmaker (and all-around lunatic) Bryan Norton (Penny Dreadful, Tomorrow's Bacon). Deep in his house of horrors, he and I watched the fifth episode of the increasingly complicated True Blood vampire series and then retired to the Blood Beachside kitchenette to discuss the direction the show has headed.

Will Bryan and I get sucked into Bill's backstory? Will we guess who was responsible for the shocking (and bloody) last-minute kill? And will I make it out of the memorabilia-laden apartment in one piece?

Blood Work "True Blood" video blog Ep. 4: Jason gets an eggplant

In this week’s edition of Blood Work, host Brian Juergens and special guest Joe the Vampire explain why last night’s episode could have been called “The Continuing Adventures of Jason Stackhouse’s Penis.”  But the show wasn’t just about Jason’s private parts – we learn that the undead love puns and also get to see the inside of a vampire bar.

Blood Work "True Blood" video blog Ep. 3: A vampire in Brooklyn

We're back with another installment of Blood Work, our weekly vlog discussing the increasingly batcrap crazy, gay-inclusive vampire show, True Blood.

For this week's episode I got serious in my journalistic efforts and headed to a vampire bar to get a real live (or undead, at least) vampire to co-host.

Will I make it through the episode without losing my neck? And what in heaven's name is going on in the wacky world of Bon Temps?! Click on through the jump to find out!
