UPDATE: "Gossip Girl": OMG! Did I blink?

UPDATE: Okay, we were sworn to secrecy and we stayed true to our word. But apparently no one told the actors on the show that they weren't supposed to spill the beans! If you want to find out, head on over here. If not, ignore, and join the kvetchfest below. (Note: the actor in question simply confirms that the scenes were filmed, so I guess we're still expecting there to be a coming-out in the next couple of weeks. We shall see...)

Looking at the comments for yesterday's Queerview, I wasn't the only one who tuned in to Gossip Girl last night, eager to see the resolution to a recent Michael Ausiello scoop promising that we'd see a Gossip guy revealed as gay. So, we tuned in and the gay character turned out to be...

"Gossip Girl" goes gay for its upcoming return ... but which character?

Michael Ausiello posted some juicy scoop over the weekend that when Gossip Girl returns to small screens in April, one of its fellas may very well be batting for the other team. He then posts pics of Dan (Penn Badgley), Nate (Chace Crawford) and Chuck (Ed Westwick) and offers the following clues:

• This person may or may not be pictured above.
• The revelation significantly impacts the lives of at least three people.
• The aftershocks will be felt on both sides of the East River.
• Some viewers will be surprised by the twist, others not so much.
• In the Gossip Girl novels, Dan was known to be a bit of a switch hitter — which isn't so much a clue as it is a fact. A misleading fact? Perhaps. Perhaps not.

I honestly don't watch the show, so these aren't much help to me, although I do know that Dan's sexuality has been up for discussion since the show was picked up (although he doesn't come out until much later in the book series, from what I understand) and Blair's dad is of course gay and shacked up with a male model in Paris.

The commenters so far seem to think there's a clear candidate (I won't spoil who) ... any thoughts?

Boone wasn't gay, Davis from The Real World, Cheyenne Jackson, and more

Michael Ausiello confirmed today that Boone (Ian Sommerhalder) isn't the gay character on Lost--if there even is a gay character. (Getting a clear answer from the show hasn't been easy.) Why would anyone be daft enough to think there was in the first place? Oh, maybe because Lost executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof have twice hinted that there would be, including on their March 21 podcast where they said the upcoming "Expose" episode might reveal a gay character. That was the episode where Boone was chastised for hitting on guys while running through the airport.

But after listening to the podcast, I hope Lost doesn't add a gay character. Here are Cuse and Lindelof's reaction to a viewer's question about a gay character. BTW, I can't tell them apart so will just call them EP1 and EP2:

EP1: Did we say there was a gay character?

EP2: I think somewhere on the interview we said at one point there might be a gay character.

EP1: The gay character might appear in the Nikki and Paulo episode.

EP2: I wouldn't hold your breath looking for the gay character. It's not like the gay character comes out and says, "Hey, I'm gay."

EP1: Why would you waste your time looking for the gay character when you've got Nikki and Paulo and Boone and Shannon to look at?
