We're excited to unleash yet another video blog on the world (yes, that makes 2,375 vlogs per week now): Paolo and Jonny's Big Gay Vlog!
In this new weekly series, The Big Gay Sketch Show's Jonny McGovern and Paolo Andino chat about the big gay show and their own big gay lives.
Did Paolo really adopt a baby to suck up to Rosie O'Donnell? And does he really have four nipples for breast-feeding? Jonny, meanwhile, talks about his gig hosting the International Escort Awards (aka "The Hookies") and calls out Paolo for putting porn on his iPod. 'Cause, you know ... it's a family show.
Matthew Rhys and Dave Annable in Madrid. Caliente!
In a continued effort to bring you all that is important in the world of gay entertainment and ensure that you are being spoon-fed images of gorgeous, commoditized manflesh, we present the newly-minted AfterElton Briefs. Following the usual assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear after the jump. Yes, we're serious.
T.R. Knight will be among the Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice stars singing in a benefit to raise money for people who were out of work during the writers' strike. T.R., babe, we love ya ... but let's try one without the banjo, k?
At top, a few of the Walker sibs from Brothers & Sisters made an appearance in Madrid for Fox. They're just as cute in other time zones!
Hey Amy Sedaris fans: the gay-fave recently filmed the most bizarre infomercial in the history of the Universe for Microsoft, in which she runs a bakery staffed entirely by rabbits. Wait, sorry ... okay, they're telling me that's just a normal day for her. Even better!
Finally, there's nothing gay about this, but the Dutch department store HEMA (which was my favorite thing about Amsterdam) has the coolest online store I've ever seen. Click on this and then just wait for about 30 seconds and you'll see what I mean ... absolutely brilliant.
Being as how we have a special relationship with the folks behind the scenes at Logo (they own us!), we got an advance peek at Season 2 of The Big Gay Sketch Show, which promises celebrity cameos, new castmembers, and more of the gay-related shenanigans you've come to expect.
Check it out after the jump (Warning: Some of the audio NSFW) ...

Gus Van Sant's Milk biopic gets even gayer, with out Broadway powerhouses Denis O'Hare and Stephen Spinella joining the cast (Victor Garber has been cast as well). Now it's a bit of a shame that they couldn't have cast any gay actors as the actual gay couple central to the story, but let's not look a gift civil rights martyr biopic in the mouth. And really, with Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Emile Hirsch, and James Franco already locked, is this not shaping up to be one of the strongest male casts ever?
We just heard that the second season of Logo's Big Gay Sketch Show will feature cameos by Kate Clinton, Chastity Bono, Elaine Stritch, Christine Ebersole and that lady in the center of the above pic, Rosie something-or-other. Whatever, they had me at the cutie-patootie new cast member at the back left.
"La Morte Boheme": Rent will be put to rest June 1, only about 5 years after the artsy downtown neighborhood from which it sprang was converted to a Starbucks.
Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List (Bravo) 10:00 PM EDT
Crossover time! This week, Kathy meets with Work Out's Jackie Warner as Kathy prepares for a performance on Rosie O'Donnell's cruise for gay families. This season of The D-List is bringing a lot of gay visibility to television, after this current story arc, Kathy will be hosting the Gay Adult Video Awards and apply (and get rejected) to perform for gay inmates at the Los Angeles County Prison.
The Big Gay Sketch Show (Logo) 10:00 PM EDT All in the Family is re-imagined with an "extremely gay" Bunker household. Sketches also include an overzealous PFLAG mom and a woman who suspects that the gays are conspiring against her.
Outlaugh Festival on Wisecrack 10:30 PM EDT
Remember Vidur Kapur the Indian comedian who was the subject of an On the Lot film? This week, Outlaugh features a performance by Kapur. After the break, check out a sample video of Kapur's work.
Tyra Banks (Syndicated) Check local listings Kathy Griffin is one of today's guests. The main topic, most likely, will be My Life on the D-List but one of the reasons we love Griffin is that she's not one of those celebrities who's talk show appearances blur into a handful of scripted jokes. That's my long way of saying that Griffin's talk show appearances are reliably interesting, even if you just saw her on another show last week.
The Big Gay Sketch Show (Logo) 10:00 PM EDT Trya Banks and America's Next Top Model gets some well-deserved skewering in this week's episode. Also features a skit with a pirate raid on an Olivia Cruise ship.
Outlaugh Festival on Wisecrack (Logo) 10:30 PM EDT
This week, Margaret Cho introduces Jason Duty, Suzanne Westenhoeffer, as well as Lisp and Havana of The Gay Mafia.
Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List (Bravo) 11:00 PM EDT
Tonight, Kathy decides to pick her dates solely on the basis of how much publicity they're likely to get her. Evidently, Nick Carter meets that criteria, since she goes on a date with him tonight. However, you can also visit OffTheDList.com to vote on which celeb can get Kathy off the d-list.
After the break, check out a preview from tonight's episode where Kathy's assistant gets dressed up in Kathy drag.
You don't need me to tell you that this weekend is really about getting together with friends and family, taking time to reflect on our nation's heroes, and officially welcoming the arrival of the warm-weather months (usually by scraping off the barbecue and knocking back a few cold ones). But in the event that you find yourself locked in a small dark room with nothing but a television equipped with basic cable (and DVR! What is this, a torture chamber?!), here are a few gay pics to make the chalkmarks fly by.
Friday
The Big Gay Sketch Show (Logo) 7:00PM and 7:30PM EDT If you haven't seen the BGSS yet, there's no better time to catch up than when you're getting ready for dinner or a night on the town or Bible study class or what-have you. And the first of these back-to-backs features the very funny Rachel Ray in New York sketch and one of my faves. the evil airline desk agent.
The Tonight Show with That Guy (NBC) 11:35PM EDT It's no secret, I can't stand Jay Leno and his decades-stale brand of "you young crazy whippernappers with your rock and roll and matchin' shoes!" humor. Case in point: the continued appearances of Ross the Intern, who in my opinion is treated like a punching bag more often than not in these segments. Might be worth tuning in to see how insulting the self-professed macho men will be tonight.
Saturday
Shear Genius Marathon (Bravo) 10:00AM EDT In the leadup to next week's season finale, Bravo is airing every episode of the surprisingly entertaining Shampoo Opera back-to-back. Not a bad way to kill some hours, if only to revisit the glorious crazy of Dr. Boogie. Oh -- and I would have recommended Rene Fris' appearance this morning on Today, but there's no way I would recommend anyone getting up at 5AM on a Saturday for anything, period.
Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (IFC) 8:00PM EDT Sexploitation master Russ Meyer's only studio picture (penned by Roger Ebert, of all people, and proudly bearing no relation whatsoever to the original), Beyond is probably one of the 10 most amazingly crazy movies ever made (and yes, it even beats Baby Geniuses). Gays, lesbians, transgendered superheroes, and one of the most legitimately awesome original soundtracks ever recorded (long live the Carrie Nations!) make this an absolute must-see, full stop. As the amazing Z-Man puts it (long before Austin Powers borrowed the line), "this is my happening and it freaks me out!"
Sunday
Polyester (IFC) 9:45PM EDT John Waters' classic (which stars Divine, of course, as well as gay former matinee idol Tab Hunter) screens tonight -- wow, is IFC getting their camp on this weekend, or what? You can recreate the infamous "scratch-and-sniff" promotion that accompanied the film in theatres by setting up your own smelly items at home. Although, for your sake, I would hope that you don't have some of the scents handy...
Monday
Oh, come on -- go outside and get some sun. You've been looking a bit pasty anyway.
As luck would have it, the two best picks for gay TV tonight are on at exactly the same time. "Picture-in-Picture" has never been so queer.
Work Out: Watch What Happens Reunion (Bravo) 10:00PM EDT Bravo programming exec Andy Cohen (who's also an out gay man and Diana Ross enthusiast) hosts the reunion episode of the network's hit Tricep Opera. As our preview from last week demonstrated, the memory of the untimely death of trainer Doug Blasdell is still very close to the surface, so have your tissues ready.
The Big Gay Sketch Show (Logo) 10:00PM EDT Tonight's episode has my second-favorite skit so far on the series, which features Stephen Guarino as a sociopathic flight attendant. There's also a great Rachel Ray bit and two of the better Logo Life Tips segments (my least favorite segments, overall -- although these are a vast improvement). Gay Werewolf (played by recent interview victim Jonny McGovern) also rears his fabulously-coiffed head.
Talk, drama, and a little bit of sketch. It sounds like most of my past relationships, but it's actually today's gay television offerings...
Live with Regis and Kelly (Syndicated) Check local listings Eric and Danielle -- who just won The Amazing Race All-Stars a few days ago -- appear on Regis and Kelly to gloat. In case you've forgotten, Eric is the homophobic jerk who likes being photographed half-naked with his friends at parties. These two have apparently split since the filming ended.
The Tyra Banks Show (Syndicated) Check local listings Hot off of gay-baiting Ross the Intern, Tyra jumps back into Oprah mode with a show about transgendered individuals. Is it just me, or is this topic getting quite a lot of mainstream exposure these days? Nice!
Work Out (Bravo) 10:00PM EDT Last week's episode, in which the trainers learned of the severity of Doug's situation and Jackie reconnected with her mother, was downright brutal (the last scene where Brian Peeler told the others about Doug was one of the most harrowing things I've seen on television in years). Fittingly, the season has shifted enormously since the premiere from wacky dating hijinks to serious soul-searching -- in this finale (except for the reunion episode), the group goes on a retreat to deal with Doug's passing.
The Big Gay Sketch Show (Logo) 10:00PM EDT Cast member Michael Serrato (whom you may remember as the horrifyingly dead-on Mrs. Garrett in last week's Facts of Life spoof) shines again as a male Edith Bunker (it's really something to behold) and an overaggressive PFLAG mom trying to get her son a date with a cute waiter. There's also a funny lesbian phone sex service skit.
Happy May Day! Wait -- it is May Day, right? Or is that just what you yell when your boat is sinking?
Here's what's gay on the tube today...
The Oprah Winfrey Show (Syndicated) Check local listings I hate to even mention this trainwreck, but Dina McGreevey (ex-wife of ex-hetero ex-New Jersey governor Jim McGreevey) is on Oprah today to shill her new book. Let's hope Ope keeps things on the level.
Work Out (Bravo) 10:00PM EDT Tonight's episode is a tough one -- as Michael mentioned in his column, the trainers learn of the severity of Doug's situation while Jackie is away visiting her father's grave and Peeler (Doug's best bud at the gym) is in charge. Add a porn star with a touching story about being gay in the military, and you've got a pretty charged hour of television. Check back here tomorrow for a new exclusive interview with Peeler, in which he discusses Doug's passing.
The Big Gay Sketch Show (Logo) 10:00PM EDT On a considerably lighter note, a new Big Gay airs tonight -- and trust me, it's much funnier than the first. There's a cute skit on lesbian speed-dating, a bit about an assassin who tries out for a Broadway show (strange, but funny), and my favorite character so far -- Fitzwilliam, the wealthy British boy who wants a vagina for Christmas. As I said in my review, they ain't all gems -- but this ep is pretty strong overall.
