Broadway Backwards 4 brings the gay!

Throughout the show, John Tartaglia’s friend Rod lusted after the several male hotties in the cast.

Marty Thomas, who won last year’s Broadway Beauty Pageant, led the company in the joyous finale: “Defying Gravity,” from Wicked.

OMG

I never thought I'd see the day when Mrs. Brady grabs a guy's crotch and kisses a stand-in for Alice! All of my precious childhood memories have been destroyed in one felled swoop. Next you'll be telling me that Mr. Brady was gay.

But seriously. It looks like an awesome evening was had by all. Wish I could have been there.

Enquiring Minds MUST Know!

Who was the HUNK getting felt up by Mrs. Brady? I'm going to stalk him.

Me want DVD

Please, oh Please have them make a DVD of this. It sounds hilarious. As a poor Georgia boy, I could never get to see this live.

Just a teeny correction

Mario Cantone sang "Chief Cook and Bottle Washer." Harried housewives aren't usually known for washing books.

Like the rest of you, I really wish I had been there. And as an additional fundraising tool, releasing a DVD seems a no-brainer. The Center hasn't taken that step yet, though (sigh).

There may be issues

There may be issues because, although stage work is covered under one union, as soon as you go into a broadcast medium or sold product there is a whole renegotiation, royalties, buyouts, SAG, etc.  It can kill moving from one medium to another...

I do not know if the situation is different if it is donated performances for charity -- anyone know?

Anyway, if there were a DVD, I WOULD BUY IT.  It may be the only chance I get to have Mr. Cheyenne Jackson on all fours in my living room!

Thanks for the great story and pics!

One thing seems certain - lesbians sure like hats.

Broadway.com

Broadway.com has a vid feature from the benefit. It's a little underwhelming.

Give me more Tony Yazbek and less Florence Henderson, please. Vocally, she was WEAK. Urie's clip is good with one of my fave Sondheim "crazy" songs. Would have loved to have seen more of Llana, Seiber, and Tartaglia's internet-themed gay "Matchmaker".

Anyhoo... as a benefit concert with big names for a VERY WORTHY cause... well done.

Florence Henderson

She is 70 years old. Most of us are vocally weak at 70.

Getting Married Today

I would kill to be able to see Michael Urie and Becky Newton's number. They look amazing! I wish they released these on DVD and CD. I heard a terrible audio bootleg of NPH and David Burtka from last year's, and it's really a shame they don't do and/or release a professional recording.
