AfterElton's Trending Topics: Those Eyes! That Smile! That Something Special!

It's different for everybody, that special something about a guy that makes your head turn. It could be something about his face, the way he moves or any number of factors. In the AE breakroom this week, we've been trying to break down those factors and the hot topic of discussion has been: What's the first thing that makes you notice someone you're attracted to?

The responses we got from the AE writers named a variety of characteristics from a strong chin, narrow waist to brainpower. However, we want to hear from our readers. In the comments, be sure to let us know what makes you notice an attractive man?

From the staff...

This is a hard one for me, because there doesn't really seem to be a common thread in the guys I've been attracted to. But it occurs to me that I've frequently had the experience of thinking a guy is cute ... until he opens his mouth. And that makes me think that a nice voice, and nice, thoughtful sentiments being projected, are probably the most important single thing.

I also have this thing for a guy's scent — can you actually smell pheromones? Whatever it is, if it's right, boy, is it a turn-on!

To me, before the solid, unabashed gaze seals the deal, that jawline, squared with a strong chin (dimples earn bonus points) catches my eye before the swagger, the butt, or the smile.

Whenever I've allowed myself to to be attracted to a guy solely because of looks — usually dark and swarthy — I've almost always come to regret it. But when a guy first catches my attention because of his intelligence and confidence, then he's almost always been worth my while.
