What TV Show or Movie Would You Remake?

Hollywood loves to remake, reboot and revisit concepts that have been hits in the past. Right now, you can go to your local movieplex and choose between new versions of Fright Night, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Conan the Barbarian or The Smurfs. Meanwhile, this fall you'll be able to tune in to Hawaii 5-O, Prime Suspect or Charlie's Angels on TV.
While there's a lot of remake fatigue out there, there's always the rare project that feels like its worth revisiting. Thus, the topic of discussion in the AE breakroom this week has been, Is there an older movie or TV show you'd be excited to see a remake for?

Well, you didn't specify television or film, so I'm going with a TV show I miss. I want to see a new version of The Greatest American Hero. There was something so accessible about having the accidental super hero, who just put on a suit but didn't know how to use it. Sure, he saved the day, but he couldn't fly straight. It's the action genre with a nice touch of the comedic.
The trick in this modern day would be to keep the special effects from removing the "every guy" aspect of the show. Plus finding the right man to play the lead, since he can't necessarily look like a chiseled super hero, but you don't want to see Fat Albert in spandex every week, either.

I'm largely indifferent to remakes of shows that had successful runs. It's cool to see the idea with modern special effects and a modern sensibility, but I figure the idea had its time. Though, I have to say, I still think Snicks' recent call for a Three's Company reboot sounded kind of cool.
However, I'll pick a show that I thought had massive potential but died a premature death. The show was Brimstone and it starred John Glover as the best Satan ever. I'd love to see him reprise his role. Maybe Max Greenfield would make a good lead for this show. It would be even better if it could be a cable show so it could be as dark as it promised — though of course being on cable virtually guarantees early cancellation.

I have been thinking about this one since I was a kid. I'd like to see a live action remake of the edgy sixties Saturday morning cartoon Jonny Quest. Remember that one? With the totally ominous and cool opening theme, Bandit the dog and all that gay married couple subtext between Dr. Quest and Race Bannon?
A live-action, more adult version of the story could actually make good on that subtext between Benton Quest and hunky Race. But we'd also need a little hetero romance for straight crowd, and so the first film (yes, I'm envisioning a series of films!) could be a sort of origin story: How Jonny met Hadji. The twist in the live action version is that a third of the way through you discover Hadji is actually a girl and hiding out from the Punjab Sikh police. There's pretty brown locks under that turban!
And who knows, if a live action film is a hit they could even license a line of video games: Porta-Jonny Quest for Nintendo DS.
