What Shows Are You Eager To Watch This Fall?

The fall TV season is almost upon us and that means we're getting ready for new shows to sample and (possibly) make a part of our weekly entertainment schedules. At this point, every show is full of potential and we've yet to see the ways they fail to deliver on their promises. While we're asking our readers to tell us which shows they're most excited to see, we've been discussing amongst ourselves which shows we can't wait to see.
Thus, the hot topic of discussion in the AfterElton breakroom this week has been: What new shows are you most looking forward to and what returning shows are you most excited about?

Well, I'm cheating a bit, because I've already seen preview copies of all the new shows. I thought the best ones were: Ringer (the Sarah Michelle Gellar thriller about twins); Homeland (a political thriller starring Claire Danes, about a paranoid woman who stumbles upon an actual conspiracy); and two mid-season replacements, Awake (about a man who finds himself living in parallel dimensions); and Smash (about the making of a Broadway musical, starring Debra Messing, who's actually pretty great!).
At least the pilots of all these shows are truly terrific.
Other shows I liked include: Once Upon a Time, Apartment 23, and A Gifted Man.
As for returning shows, I'm sorry, Dexter is just where it's at. Simply one of the best shows of all time.

Most of what I'm excited about is set for mid-season, so I don't know how I feel about fall television. Smash looks amazing from what I've seen, and I'm all for exploring a Broadway show's dynamics, since there hasn't been a ton of that done on network television. I'm even willing to put aside my instinctive aversion to Debra Messing, who I unfairly associate with Grace Adler in my brain.
Having seen the missing episode of Happy Endings this past week, I'm really looking forward to the snappy writing there, and Max keeps getting moved higher and higher on my TV Boyfriend List.
And finally, Good Christian Belles fascinates me. I'm a natural southern boy, so the concept of these ladies bringing out those long knives coated in sugar and honey is a major factor for me. Adding in Kristen Chenoweth is just a bonus.
