TV on Tap: Syfy Changes Its Mind About "Eureka" Again, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson Can Tell You How to Get to "Sesame Street"

Versus presents the national premiere of Out: The Glenn Burke Story, telling the history of the
baseball player who came out in the 80s.

News

Wow. The endgame yo-yo over Eureka just took a surprising twist. EW is now reporting that the Syfy drama has been canceled. Previously, it was reported that Syfy wanted a final, sixth season that might last six episodes or longer, but  now it turns out the upcoming fifth season (Syfy is currently airing the second half of the fourth season) will include the dramedy's farewell.

Sesame Street has announced what viewers can expect in the coming season, and that will include parodies of Glee and The Deadliest Catch and appearances by Jesse Tyler Ferguson, James Marsden, Sofia Vergara, Johnny Galecki, Mark Ruffalo, John Krasinski, Emma Stone, as well as the Daily Show husband-and-wife team Samantha Bee and Jason Jones.

If you were disappointed that Marc Cherry's Hallelujah didn't make it to ABC's fall schedule, there's still hope. The pilot is reportedly being reworked in hopes of addressing the problems that led to it getting rejected.

What will Megan Mullally bring to Happy Endings when she appears on the show next month? (That's right, we're only a few weeks away from the fall season. It's almost happy dance time.) Basically, she'll be playing a Lorelai Gilmore-type mom who gave birth to Penny at a young age and has a Gilmore Girls-style BFF relationship with her daughter.

Comedy Central has a few specials in the works with "Weird" Al Yankovic. In addition to providing the network's first concert special in more than a decade, the video for Yankovic's next polka medley "Polka Face" will debut exclusively on Comedy Central's website.

Horror channel FEARNet is creating its first original comedy series. Holliston is a multi-camera buddy comedy described as "Wayne's World meets Saw" and will be a part of its "Twisted Comedy" block. If you're familiar with FEARNet and are a little confused by the news, the network used to be available only on the web and via Video On Demand, but it launched an HD channel last Halloween.
