TV on Tap: Gloria Steinem vs "The Playboy Club," CBS Reboots "Bewitched" and "Top Chef" Gets New Judges

It's
the final night of performances on tonight's So You Think You Can Dance.

News

Jake McDorman (who played Greek's poor-little-rich-boy Evan Chambers) just got an upgrade. In the original pilot for Are You There Vodka, It's Me Chelsea, he had a guest role. Now, they're creating a new character for him, a bartender who works with Laura Prepon's Chelsea Hanson.

When Top Chef kicks off its ninth season, the veteran reality competition will film in Texas with two new judges. Emeril Lagasse will join the judges' table along with Hugh Acheson, who you might remember as the energetic, funny guy who got eliminated in the first episode of last season's Top Chef Masters only to return when a competitor dropped out. It'll be interesting to see if they stick around. Last season, Anthony Bourdain was supposed to join the Top Chef judges' table but disappeared after a few episodes. The Top Chef Masters judges table then had so many fill-ins it made the show a true struggle to keep watching.

Is horror the next TV trend? NBC is turning to the executive producers of House for an adaptation of Frankenstien. Can't we get Bryan Fuller's Munsters update first?

CBS is considering making a new Bewitched. I'm not opposed to the idea of revisiting the series, but I'm not sure if two producers who worked on the mediocre 2005 movie are the right people to make the adaptation.

Feminist icon Gloria Steinem says she'd like to see viewers boycott NBC's upcoming soap The Playboy Club. I hope the article just failed to mention the part where Steinem says that she's making her boycott call after having watched the pilot (as opposed to calling for a boycott based on her speculation as to the show's content). I really hate when people spout off with an uninformed opinion, no matter what side of the political spectrum they fall. Steinem once went undercover at a Playboy Club and reported on her experience. I think she'd accomplish more pushing critics (and, later, viewers) to compare the drama to Steinem's investigation. (Meanwhile, NPR's Linda Holmes has definitely seen the pilot and she did see problems with the drama.)

Listings

So You Think You Can Dance (Fox) 8:00 PM ET
The final four give it their all tonight. Who will give the kind of performance necessary to put them over the top?

Big Brother (CBS) 8:00 PM ET
If its Wednesday, it's time for the veto competition. No one better mess up this set of nominations, which looks pretty win/win.

Melissa & Joey (ABC Family) 8:00 PM ET
When Mel's last single friend announces her engagement, it leaves Mel in a bit of panic about her love life. Maybe she could take a day trip to Cleveland and get dating advice from a certain trio of women.

State of Georgia (ABC Family) 8:30 PM ET
We were supposed to see the season finale tonight with Georgia lying about the concert tickets she has, but it looks like we've now got two episodes to anticipate for next week.

Roseanne's Nuts (Lifetime) 9:00 PM ET
It's a funny ladies night out as Phyllis Diller and Sandra Bernhardt join Roseanne for a bit of fun (er, I'm guessing they're not staying in Honokaa). This leads to a troublesome hangover for Roseanne the next morning.

America's Got Talent (NBC) 9:00 PM ET
Which YouTube acts will move on? Viral video stars like Keenan Cahill, "Chocolate Rain" singer Tay Zonday, Up and Over It and Rebecca Black. That doesn't sound complete to me without some follow-up snark by infoMania alumni Brett Erlich and Sergio Chili.

Hot in Cleveland (TV Land) 10:00 PM ET
TV Land's biggest new comedy takes a look back at the second season's funniest moments. Too bad they didn't go truly retro and have the four stars sit around a table and find different ways to say "Remember the time when you..."

Happily Divorced (TV Land) 10:30 PM ET
You had to know a show like this would have Fran and Peter waking up in bed together sooner or later and we see that in tonight's episode.

What will you be watching tonight? Please share in the comments!

Tomorrow's Preview

So You Think You Can Dance (Fox) 8:00 PM ET
