TV on Tap: The CW Considers a "Sex and the City" Prequel and "Teen Wolf" Finishes Strong

BBC America debuts the first of the season's three mid-20th-century dramas tonight with The Hour.
News
The news has been pretty gay for CBS' The Good Wife lately. Not only has Harvey Fierstein been cast to play an ex-hippie judge, Alicia's brother Owen will have a new boyfriend played by Michael Arden.
Adult Swim has ordered a fourth season of Childrens Hospital, which reaffirms my faith in the late night programming block. It's been strained ever since I heard that Frisky Dingo wouldn't be coming back.
Are you ready for more Sex and the City? The CW is reportedly trying to get the rights to adapt Sex and the City prequel novel The Carrie Diaries with the Gossip Girl team producers. I loved SatC in its day, but the show's materialism makes the characters obnoxious today.
The Parents Television Council continues to slip further into the realm of self-parody with a report that is shocked -- shocked I tell you! -- that there are animated programs with humor more racy than slipping on a banana peel. Even more shocking is the existence of something called Adult Swim that airs after most kids' bedtime and has content not suitable for children. I'm sure their next report will warn parents of the existence of R-rated movies on premium cable channels like HBO and Starz.
ABC Family is planning to adapt a telenovela, Terminales about a successful young career woman who is diagnosed with terminal cancer. Sordid Lives creator Del Shores will write the adaptation. Could this be the next Ugly Betty?
The Help's Viola Davis could be headed to HBO, Davis is said to be up for a role in a half-hour series about an exclusive prep school's ambitious headmaster in a city with a corrupt government.
Bad news for Anderson Cooper, his debut week in the more competitive 8PM time slot came in fourth place among the news networks, behind The O'Reilly Factor, The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell and Nancy Grace. Still, cable news ratings are a long-term game and time will tell if his audience will find him at the new time.
The Playboy Club is planning on bringing guest-stars to play 1960s singers who will perform at the club and that will start with Cobie Caillat, who will play "It's My Party" singer Lesley Gore.
The finale for Teen Wolf had a strong showing in the ratings. Monday's closing chapter drew nearly as many viewers as did the premiere, which had the MTV Movie Awards as a lead-in.
