TV on Tap: Finale Night for "Futurama," "Wilfred" and "Louie" and More

The Futurama gang turns anime (and other styles) on tonight's finale.
News
Scott Foley certainly has a busy schedule. In addition to his upcoming role on True Blood, he'll be executive producing a pilot for CBS. Escape Artists will be about a brother and sister who help people disappear.
NBC has already tried out comedies with attention-getting names. Recall they had $#*! My Dad Says and recent pilots that originally included "bitch" in the title. Now the network is developing My Best Friend is a Lesbo. The comedy is about two female best friends and roommates, one straight, one gay and is based on the real-life relationship of the two writers collaborating on the pilot.
Instead of hosting the Golden Globes, Ricky Gervais is thinking about doing a live webcast where he and a few of his comedian friends (which could include Louis C.K., Larry David, Jon Stewart and Chris Rock) comment about the ceremony with no worry of broadcast TV standards. NBC should consider sending a check to Gervais for such a move, it might be able to get my partner to watch a whole awards ceremony.
Apparently, Showtime is ready for more softcore reality TV as Gigolos returns on October 20.
What new shows are the networks betting on? According to one study, ABC has been giving the most marketing to Revenge while CBS has been putting the promotional push to Person of Interest. Fox and NBC are most optimistic about The X-Factor and Up All Night, respectively.
This certainly isn't going to encourage reality TV producers to behave any more ethically, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills had a strong season premiere, adding 42% more viewers from the first season premiere. However, it underperformed compared to the first season's finale.
The fourth season premiere of Sons of Anarchy was up 19% from the third-season premiere and just may be the most-watched original episode for FX. That almost makes me wish I had the time to try to catch up on the series.
