TV on Tap: "Happy Endings" Makes Halloween Plans, NBC Invites Viewers to "Friday Night Dinner" and Lifetime Gets "Wanted"

Melissa & Joey wraps up its season tonight.

News

What can we expect when the Happy Endings gang celebrates Halloween? Adam Pally says that last season's brief flashback to Penny and Max both dressed as Snooki is "just the beginning." It sounds like the two will team-up again, possibly for a "conjoined" costume.

Need even more reason to look forward to the new Happy Endings season? Daily Show correspondent Larry Wilmore will appear in a role that could be recurring.

Another Switched at Birth cast member has booked a guest role on a CBS show. This time, it's Vanessa Marano who will appear on an episode of CSI.

After being canceled by Fox after 25 seasons, America's Most Wanted will be moving to Lifetime, which seems a good fit considering the number of true crime movies Lifetime airs.

Greg Daniels, who adapted The Office for NBC. is working to bring another series across the pond. Daniels is now working on an American version of Friday Night Dinner. (The season finale for the original edition will air Saturday on BBC America, if you haven't checked it out yet.) Does anyone have any suggestions on who could step into Tamsin Greig's capable shoes?

Greek creator Patrick Sean Smith is developing a new series for Fox, though all we know about Wanderlust is that it will focus on young people who travel the world.

TNT's upcoming series Perception has signed up a few more guest-stars. Cary Elwes will appear as a codebreaker who helps Eric McCormack's investigator on a case, Desperate Housewives alum Neal McDonough will play the head of an agricultural company while Sheryl Lee and Pamela Reed will play mother and daughter.

Add one more group condemning NBC's The Playboy Club. The San Francisco Commission on the Status of Women has issued a resolution objecting to the drama and urging NBC to replace it with a series that "depicts women's substantial achievements." I still say it'd be far more effective to use the show to get people to read Gloria Steinem's account of working for a Playboy Club and compare the drama to the reality Steinem recorded.

Anderson Cooper is getting some news-making bookings for his talk show that debuts next week. In addition to talking Amy Winehouse's family and boyfriend, Coop will be talking with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (minus Taylor Armstrong and Kim Richards). I believe this will be their first interview since the season premiere, which addressed Russell Armstrong's suicide.

In further daytime TV news, Regis Philbin has announced his final day hosting Live with Regis and Kelly will be November 18.
