TV on Tap: "Modern Family" Returns with a Family Vacation and Emily VanCamp Seeks "Revenge"

Drea de Matteo is following her trip to Wisteria Lane with a visit to CSI: Miami. The former Sopranos star will play a high stakes poker player at an illegal game that gets robbed.

Gilles Marini continues to be busy. You've probably heard about his upcoming appearance on Modern Family, he'll also show up in an episode of Are You There Vodka, It's Me Chelsea. Unsurprisingly, he'll be playing a love interest to Chelsea.

I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. ABC has bought a drama from novelist Nicholas Sparks. The story focuses on "a fallen angel looking for his mortal love" which sounds like the kind of feel-good hit that will inspire all kinds of eye-rolling.

Fox's The New Girl has signed up a couple more guest-stars. Childrens Hospital's Lake Bell will be a love interest for Jake Johnson's Nick while Natasha Lyonne will play an ex of Max Greenfield's Schmidt.

After his dramatic departure from MSNBC, Cenk Uygur signed up for a show on Current. Uygur is reportedly working on an adaptation of his online show The Young Turks to air before Countdown with Keith Olbermann.

Charlie Sheen had an unmissable influence on Monday's ratings. Over 28 million viewers tuned in to see how he was written out of Two and a Half Men and another 6.4 million viewers watched him get roasted on Comedy Central. The roast was the second most-watched show in the comedy network's history, falling behind a Jeff Dunham Christmas special.

Two and a Half Men wasn't the only good news for CBS. The premiere of 2 Broke Girls was watched by 19.2 million viewers. (CBS brags that it was the most-watched comedy premiere since Inside Schwartz in 2001, they might want to avoid making a comparison to a show that couldn't survive even with a strong lead-in.) Meanwhile, the return of How I Met Your Mother drew 34% more viewers than last year's season premiere.

We've been hearing the hype for months and now the new singing competition is here. With a Simon Cowell-Paula Abdul reunion at the judges' table and hunky Welsh host Steve Jones, this show should have something for the American Idol fans who need a fall fix.

Regan and Chris become obsessed with the cool couple who move in to the house across the street. Meanwhile, Ava's bothered by the way baby Amy seems to hate her.

America's Next Top Model (CW) 9:00 PM ET
It's time for the best episode of the season, the makeover episode! The All-Stars have to know its coming, so will we see anyone cry when they get their hair cut this time?

Modern Family (ABC) 9:00 PM ET
In tonight's hour-long premiere the Pritchetts head to a dude ranch, which should mean we'll finally see if Country Mouse Cameron thrives in the setting. Then, Mitchell and Cameron gather the family together to announce their plans to adopt another child.

Revenge (ABC) 10:00 PM ET
ABC's newest drama sees Brothers & Sisters' Emily VanCamp as a woman who moves to the Hamptons with plans to take revenge on some of the region's pampered residents.

Top Chef: Just Desserts (Bravo) 10:00 PM ET
The remaining cheftestants have to come up with a candy bar concept and frozen treats.

Blue Mountain State (Spike) 11:00 PM ET
The team has to deal with a new dynamic as Alex takes over as starting quarterback. In case you missed it on Saturday, that's followed by an episode where the guys learn a lesson about sexting and how to properly photograph, er, themselves
