TV on Tap: Piers Morgan Quits "America's Got Talent," A Second Season for "Anderson" and Kevin Alejandro is a "Breakout King"

Already? Tonight brings the winter finale for The Vampire Diaries.

News

This should make some America's Got Talent fans happy. Piers Morgan tweeted that the past season of America's Got Talent was his final one as a judge. Morgan sat at the AGT judges' table from the beginning and by last summer he seemed to be going through the motions. He was still the prickly villain of the show, but he seemed to be more annoyed by his role than any of the things prompting him to grumble. So far, the America's Got Talent producers have found ways to improve the dynamic of the show with each new judge, let's hope they make another wise choice.

So the wedding and the divorce was just a storyline for their awful reality shows? This just cements my view of the celebrity weekly magazines as the reality TV versions of the soap opera magazines.

We got a double dose of casting news for The Vampire Diaries. First, Paul Wesley's wife Torrey DeVitto will be joining him on the set as a woman who takes an interest in Alaric. You might recognize DeVitto as Spencer's sister Melissa on Pretty Little Liars. Meanwhile, former Girlfriends star Persia White will appear as Bonnie's mom.

If you've been enjoying Anderson, here's some good news, the daytime talk show will be back for a second season.

I've had little interest in A&E's Breakout Kings but getting Kevin Alejandro to appear in an episode as a dying inmate who escapes so he can channel his inner Dexter certainly grabs my interest.

Get ready for a flood of games based on HBO's fantasy series Game of Thrones. In addition to a free-to-play MMO and a social networking game (I don't want to imagine what kind of things that game will end up posting to people's walls) Atlus is working on an RPG for Windows, Xbox and PS3 that will get access to upcoming show footage so that the game and TV show match up.

As much as I adore Jane Lynch, I have to agree with the sentiment that Sue Sylvester now drags down Glee episodes.
