Wednesday Night's "Ugly Betty"'s Gives Justin Suarez a Love Interest
*** SPOILER WARNING***
This article discusses key plot points from Thursday night's episode of Ugly Betty and what happened with Justin Suarez.
We've written a great deal about what the final season of Ugly Betty might bring for the character of Justin Suarez, the fashion-obsessed, show-tune loving teen that pretty much pinged everyone's gaydar from the first time we met him.
For quite some time we've been saying we were very confident that Betty's nephew would finally come out, and last night's episode "All the World's a Stage" set the stage for what seems to be Justin's finally coming to terms with the fact that he's gay.
It's been a long running joke on the show that the adults in Justin's life figure the odds are pretty good he is gay, so gay in fact that every time Justin says something to the contrary, that he gets reactions along these lines.
Those are the looks that Betty and Marc each gave Justin during the episode when he explained he's got a serious crash on a girl named Lily in his acting class. I love how they are both knowing and accepting of the fact that Justin is probably gay, but never push him in that direction. That's especially true of Marc who simply couldn't be a better role model and guide for Justin.
In fact, Justin turns up at the Mode offices to invite Marc to come watch Justin and his drama classmates — including his "crush" Lily and their friend Austin — perform "scenes" from famous plays. This is the Austin that Justin constantly talks about even though it is Lily with whom he is supposedly smitten.
