Gay Battle Royale 2010! Kish Vs. LuRe: Help Crown the Ultimate Daytime Couple!

Godzilla vs. Mothra, Krystle vs. Alexis, Tiffany vs. Debbie Gibson, Sarah Palin vs. Sanity. Some of the greatest rivalries in history, and now we can add one more.

The last year saw two wildly popular gay couples bring much-needed flavor to daytime, and even though TPTB on both shows ended up fumbling their stories, One Life to Live's Kish (Kyle and Oliver) and As The World Turns' LuRe (Luke and Reid) left an indelible impression on our lives.

But now that it's all over and the dust has cleared, which couple came out on top?

We studied many aspects of both couples, consulted with relationship experts, asked Dr. Phil his opinion (and laughed a lot) and finally said "to hell with that" and came up with some fun comparisons instead.

You're probably wondering why Nuke (Noah and Luke) isn't included. Unfortunately we had to disqualify them due to the fact that they broke up. And because Noah got annoying.

Round One - First Kiss

Luke and Oliver had at least one thing in common: they were both suckerkissed by their future boyfriends. The Kish kiss came after a heated fight about Oliver's closeted status, while Reid used the occasion of good career news to unexpectedly plant one on Luke in a Texas hotel room.

This is a toughie, but our vote goes to Kish. A kiss in the heat of battle is always hot, and this one also gave us the added delight of a shocked Cristian trying to digest what he just saw.

Round Two - Blond BFF

Both couples had the good fortune of having a blond muse to help bring them together. Kyle had drinking buddy and confidante Roxy, while Reid's first real friend in Oakdale was roommate Katie.

As much as we like Katie, how can we not award this to the goddess that is Roxanne Louise Lipschitz Balsom? From her gift boxes of condoms to her malapropisms, she was a true farce of nature.
