Jim Carrey Has No Problem Playing Gay, Despite Letterman Concerns

"Are homosexuals saying the [I Love You, Phillip Morris] part should have gone to a homosexual actor?"

"Do you worry about your image as a heterosexual leading man playing a homosexual?"

These were the two lame and cringeworthy questions David Letterman asked Jim Carrey on Friday night. Carrey was there to plug his movie role as a gay con artist who falls madly in love with his cellmate, and Letterman (who says he saw the movie that day) appeared really fixated on the whole homosexual thing.

To his absolute credit, Carrey rolled his eyes and called Letterman out on it. "Boy, we haven't grown at all, have we?"

Jim Carrey came off really well in this talk show appearance, and I have to say his stock has gone way up with me. I just wish he had a better gay movie to plug than I Love You Phillip Morris.
