Are We Coming Down to the Last New "Torchwood" Episodes We'll Ever See?

We're down to just a few handful of episodes left for Torchwood: Miracle Day, and if things don't turn around pretty substantially ratings-wise, it's hard not to wonder if this might not be the end of the line for Torchwood.

While the first episode earned pretty decent ratings for Starz, pulling in around 1.5 million viewers, it subsequently slid pretty dramatically, garnering only 800,000 viewers two weeks ago. Last week actually saw a decent jump up to 917,000 viewers, which the show definitely needs to build on if its to survive.

And TW isn't exactly kicking ass in the UK either.

I've certainly noticed a lack of enthusiasm for the show here on the site. Where our recaps used to pull hundreds of comments, they're often getting no more than few dozen these days. No doubt part of that is due to the fact the show is on a premium cable network and fewer folks are watching than when it aired on BBC America in the U.S. But it's also hard to discount the idea that the death of Ianto Jones truly did drive a substantial number of fans to abandon the show.

Which is too bad as this season has done some very interesting things with Captain Jack, especially when it comes to showing same-sex sex scenes, and as viewers will see tonight, a past relationship of Jack's turns out to be very pivotal to what is happening in regards to the "Miracle." Here are a couple of preview clips as well as some new pictures.
