The Hot Men of Fall TV, Part 2: Damon Wayans, Max Greenfield, Yul Kwon, Sean Maher and More!

Since our first edition was so popular, AfterElton.com now brings you Part 2 of “Hot Men of Fall TV”, where we take a look at a whole new crop of sexy actors from the upcoming fall season. This bunch is particularly “gay-friendly”, featuring as it does several actors who in many cases made their names portraying gay characters.

It bears mentioning again, however, that the network’s upcoming programs are sadly lacking when it comes to representing actors of color. In a television climate that’s seeing such great strides in the depiction of GLBT characters, we can only hope network executives won’t lose sight of the fact that boosting the number of racial minorities on the small screen remains an important goal.

Michael Arden, The Good Wife (CBS)

Before turning to TV and movies, openly gay actor Michael Arden was a successful Broadway star with a string of well-received performances under his belt.

Now he’s been cast on CBS’ hit series The Good Wife as a potential love interest for Owen Cavanaugh (Dallas Roberts), the gay younger brother of Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies).

Arden’s as-yet-unnamed recurring character is described as a “handsome, flirty philosophy professor” who will hopefully add some man-on-man spice to the Emmy-winning show. Indeed, with his boy-next-door good looks and adorable smile, I’ll be mighty disappointed if we aren’t treated to at least one network TV-steamy sex scene between him and Roberts. Come on CBS, give us the goods.

Max Greenfield, New Girl (Fox)

Dark-haired cutie Max Greenfield is probably best known to the AE crowd for his role as gay college student Michael on ABC Family’s Greek, in which he shared the first-ever gay kiss on one of the network’s shows. While his man-on-man lip-lock with Adam Pally was lamentably cut from a recent episode of Happy Endings, the fact remains that Greenfield has shown a refreshing willingness to tackle gay roles.

Given his past artistic contributions to our community, I guess we’ll cut him some slack now that he’s “gone straight” for Fox’s new single-camera comedy New Girl opposite Zooey Deschanel, in which he’ll star as “modern-day Casanova” Schmidt.

But hey, with two other guys sharing the show’s central apartment, the least they can do is give us a good “bromance” to sink our teeth into.

Ashton Holmes, Revenge (ABC)

After speaking with “Hot Men of Fall TV” alumnus Joshua Bowman about the introduction of a possibly-gay friend for his character on new ABC drama Revenge, I prayed for a handsome hunk to be cast in the role. And by god if the network didn’t deliver with Ashton Holmes.

In case you were wondering, the sexy dirty-blonde actor has played gay before, in the little seen 2008 biopic What We Do Is Secret, based on the life of gay Germs frontman Darby Crash (played by Shane West).

After starring as Crash’s boyfriend Rob Henley in that film, in which he shared a good amount of same-sex action with West, we can only hope he gets a chance to make similar moves on Bowman’s character sometime in the course of Revenge’s first season.
