Victor Garber Voices the Invisible Head Honcho on “Charlie’s Angels”

Victor Garber

One of the most satisfying elements of the deliciously campy Charlie’s Angels is the point when Charlie says, after a job well done, “Good work, angels.” Fortunately for ABC’s new reboot which premieres tonight, they’ve finally locked in their silky-voiced overseer.

According to Vulture, Victor Garber has been chosen for the role of the unseen ladies’ man, which was originated by John Forsythe during the show’s 1976-1981 run. ABC had shot tonight’s pilot with Robert Wagner, who later dropped out.

Patrick Stewart and Julian McMahon were considered before finally landing on Garber as the silky voiced figure. Garber is probably best known to audiences as Jennifer Garner’s dad on Alias. It’ll be good to see, er… hear him return to crime fighting.

Although I think I would prefer to actually see him... and in the costume he wore for Godspell...
