"Glee" Takes Girl Power To Diva Heights As Mercedes and Santana Mashup Adele

Trust me, we can hear her loud and clear.

Glee's choir rivalry heats up now that the school musical is over, and Shelby's (Idina Menzel) girls take the stage with a mashup of Adele's power hits about love and breakups. Mercedes (Amber Riley) owns her part with "Rumour Has It"'s power vocals, and the tune really allows her to go full-diva and belt the whole song out rather than just "wailing on the last note" as she's complained in the past.

Meanwhile, Santana (Naya Rivera) really shines with the emotional tone of "Someone Like You." There are moments when you're convinced that she's going to burst into tears, yet she just sings with even more power. It feels like she's a woman on the verge of making a change in her life.

As for what it means to have Shelby and Will (Matthew Morrison) sitting together in the audience watching the performance, that's hard to say. Is the school going to only send one choir to sectionals? Isn't Shelby's club privately funded? And how will New Directions respond to the Adele bomb just tossed their way?
