Appointment Viewing: The Return of "The A-List," Teen Nick Remembers the 90's, and Can "Project Runway" Make It Work?

It's time to take a look at the Appointment Viewing in the week ahead. While this week we'll largely be watching the usual favorites, we've got a few new shows, including (sigh) the return of The A-List: New York, a new season of Project Runway and a nostalgic late-night block on Teen Nick.

With the news that Torchwood was making a transition from the BBC to U.S. premium-cable channel Starz, plenty of fans worried what the transition might mean for Captain Jack's sex life, especially since his love life had a terrible loss in Children of Earth. Well, Friday's episode should give some reassurance as the omnisexual adventurer has a one-night stand with a character played by Dillon Casey. Will that be enough to reassure fans that Starz won't be de-gaying Captain Jack?

Of course, that's not all Friday's show has to offer, as Jack confronts Oswald Danes and the Torchwood team raids the PhiCorp headquarters.

Meanwhile, Syfy has a new Haven, where the residents of the troubled little town finds their worst fears come to life. I have to wonder, in a town where Biblical plagues and other disasters don't get a major reaction, what kind of fears the residents of Haven will have to face.

"Boys, you'll just have to keep punching each other until you stop looking at the camera."

IFC has a new episode of the incredibly entertaining Rhett & Link: Commercial Kings as the duo works with a pro-wrestler. Looking at the previews, this is the assignment that leads to Rhett and Link throwing punches at each other in the ring.

At the least, I hope this week's wrestler turns out not to be as uncomfortable as last week's taxidermist. While Rhett and Link put together a hilarious ad for his taxidermy shop, it was pretty uneasy noticing what the taxidermist found funny and what didn't make him laugh.

Finally, Bravo has a new Platinum Hit while HBO has a new Real Time with Bill Maher that will include Donna Brazile and Nick Gillespie on the roundtable, while Bill interviews John Turturro and marketing strategist Martin Lewis.

BBC America's Ministry of Laughs has its first round of finales Saturday that includes the final Come Fly with Me. I've really enjoyed the reality TV parody. It shows a nice bit of creative growth for the comedy team of Matt Lucas and David Walliams. While the characters would have fit in on Little Britain, the format allows for a bit of continuity, giving some of the characters more depth than the catchphrase comedy of Little Britain.

Saturday's finale wraps up a bunch of the characters' stories. That includes Tommy as he tries to make his dreams of becoming a pilot come true, and Fearghall, who will find out if he won the Steward of the Year award. I can't wait to see what Lucas and Walliams put together for the second series.

That's not all BBC America has to offer on Saturday, what with a new episode of Outcasts and Graham Norton welcoming Adele, comedian Jack Whitehall, Britcom actress Miranda Hart along with Nico Evers-Swindell and Camilla Luddington, who will be playing the royal newlyweds in an upcoming Lifetime movie.

Meanwhile, HGTV has a new episode of Color Splash and, if you've been wanting to catch up on Happily Divorced, TV Land has a marathon of the Fran Drescher sitcom starting at 8PM.
