Appointment Viewing: It's a Week of Finales Including "Futurama," "Flipping Out," "Wilfred," "Suits" and more!

It's time once again to take a look at a week's worth of Appointment Viewing and we've got a surprisingly busy Labor Day Week. With the fall season getting ready to debut, we've got plenty of shows wrapping up their season including Flipping Out, Louie, Futurama and Suits.

Friday's Haven brings a double dose of Cristian de la Fuente appearing as mild-mannered banker with a double who handles all the desires he wishes he could act on, but has repressed. Unfortunately, those repressed desires do not include getting to score with a guy as smoking hot as Cristian de la Fuente, but considering Fuente usually gives a memorable performance, whether that be in In Plain Sight, or Brothers & Sisters, this should be another fun Haven.

This week, Friday also becomes the new home for shows that probably don't have much of a future. (Friday isn't known for its big hits.) Discovery is bringing back One Man Army, which doesn't sound like a vote of confidence from the network. I thought One Man Army had a lot of potential, as the challenges were frequently interesting, managing to create drama without turning to Fear Factor-style hamminess.

Meanwhile, Lifetime has an hour of Roseanne's Nuts that includes Roseanne returning to Salt Lake City to marshal the Utah Pride Festival. While I kinda liked Roseanne's Nuts, I suspect Lifetime's decision to air two episodes together has put the show on a path of doom. A half-hour of Roseanne could be fun, an hour quickly became overkill.

Friday also brings the penultimate Torchwood: Miracle Day on Starz. Are we headed to the last we'll see of Captain Jack?

Thankfully, Labor Day isn't able to stop a new Doctor Who from making its debut on Saturday as The Doctor hears the call of a young boy facing a variety of terrors that come from his bedroom cupboard. I hope The Doctor has a better sense of time than when he came to the aid of a young Amelia Pond.

I enjoyed last week's premiere a lot, from all the revelations about Melody Pond, the introduction of the Teselecta as well as finally getting to see Amy take action. Leave it to Steven Moffat to deliver an episode titled "Let's Kill Hitler" with so little Hitler, That was fun and unexpected.

Saturday's TV is otherwise pretty quiet but Logo has a steamy Saturday morning that has the first three Eating Out movies at 6 AM followed by two documentaries about good-looking men, Pretty Boys and The Adonis Factor and, finally the camp classic Showgirls.
