All That Matters

Not a lot has happened since we last saw Deniz and Roman. They got back together a few weeks ago and have spent much of their time as supporting characters, dealing with situations such as this one…

Now this type of mini-storyline, which ATM does often, was straight out of Sitcom 101. I usually don’t like this sort of thing, especially in an ongoing drama like a soap, but for me it worked for a change.

I’ve never been the biggest fan of Ingo and Annette, but they do make a charming couple. Their banter was hilarious, and I found myself laughing out loud several times.

This show does friendships so well, and I thought Deniz and Roman’s wacky attempts to help their friends was very sweet and very charming. I loved the scene where they revealed their masterplan.

This can be a really well-acted and well-written soap. If only the show would focus on better stories that lasted more than a few episodes. Then they might really have something.

Les Bleus

I loved last season's plot arc of Kevin’s flirtation with the suspect of from one of his cases. I had hoped the show would pick up on it because Kevin has great chemistry with his admirer, who is unbelievably beautiful.

I just wish the show had of done a better job of explaining why Kevin would cheat on Yann in the first place, especially after his pursuer did the very creepy thing of showing up while Kevin was on a case. That would be a danger sign that maybe this is not a good idea.

Yes, they explained that Kevin got caught up in the excitement of being wanted by someone else, but he and Yann have been through so much to get to where they are now. Kevin waited a long time for this man. But while Yann settled peacefully in domesticity, Kevin cheated the first chance he had.

It would be different if Kevin and Yann had been married for a long time and boredom or apathy had a chance to set in, but they have barely exchanged rings and already Kevin’s eye is wandering.

Is the show going to examine if this is what Kevin really wants? Is he going to realize that maybe after everything he’s fought for maybe the battle wasn’t worth it?

Since the show has been canceled, we’ll probably never know.
