The Week in Gay TV: Nancy Botwin is selling "Weeds" again, Riley's back on "Degrassi" and a "Huge" birthday celebration

Welcome to another edition of Week in Gay TV, your guide to sorting through the shows battling for your attention in the week ahead, including the start of a new season of Weeds plus the return of muscle and melodrama on the obstacle course on Ninja Warrior.

A second season of charmingly low budget sketch comedy wraps up on Friday with the season finale of Jeffrey & Cole Casserole. I enjoy the wild, unpredictable nature of Jeffrey & Cole, but that makes it challenging to discuss. Still, Jeffrey & Cole can dependably make me chuckle and I’m always impressed to see what kinds of things their minds will conceive. Hopefully, there will be more seasons to come.

Meanwhile, there are more Maguire family troubles on Friday’s Shameless. With Joe recovering in the hospital, he still has the power to send Jamie to jail and he’s using that power to make demands from Mandy. Of course, that’s an issue for the entire clan to handle, including Mickey.

Surely we don't have to worry about the cute devices...

Finally, every device with an artificial intelligence eventually gets a rebellious streak on Eureka. In a city like Eureka, that probably means the water fountain is a threat. I hope SARAH is behaving, at least.

At this point, I was cursing out my cable company for not carrying G4 in HD.

Saturday brings back one of my favorite guilty pleasures with another season of Ninja Warrior on G4. The Japanese import combines the kind of camp that made the original Iron Chef such a spectacle with plenty of beefcake, though I don’t know what it will take to beat the hotness of Richard King running the course in his boxer briefs.

It’s sounds like a few of the American Ninja Warrior all-stars will be a part of this season. I’m thrilled to hear that — the show is not the same without hearing the Japanese announcer shouting Levi Meeuwenberg’s name.

Meanwhile, George, Annie and Mitchell all try to deal with their inhuman sides on a new Being Human. For George, that means a new attempt to self-treat himself when his time of the month arrives. Annie, meanwhile, meets another ghost, one with tips on how to deal with agents. New vampire king Mitchell tries to get his coven off of blood with the creation of a support group. Twelve steps for vampires! Who knew?

Finally, Saturday also brings more pop culture commentary from Danielle Fishel in The Dish while David Bromstad takes inspiration from a Miami hotel in a new Color Splash.
