The Week in Gay TV: "The Real World" Might Kick Out a Roommate and a "Futurama" Centennial

Welcome to another edition of The Week in Gay TV, you guide to the shows competing for your attention in the week ahead. Things are calming down as the summer winds down and shows such as Huge, Dance Your Ass Off and Futurama wrap up. It's almost time to take a good look at those fall TV grids to figure out to watch next.

The town of Shuckton deals with the death of its mayor on a new hour of Death Comes to Town on Friday. As Mayor Bowman’s will is read, the police ask Crim how he ended up covered in blood at the end of last week. Meanwhile, one of Heather Weather’s secrets is revealed.

I wasn’t sure what to expect out of Death Comes to Town. I was very excited by the idea of The Kids in the Hall returning to TV, but I wasn’t sure if the mini-series format would work. After all, the last time they created an extended story, the result was Brain Candy.

So far, Death Comes to Town is looking like everything I hoped Brain Candy would be, including the Kids' funny sketch comedy with a full story to give added richness to the hilarity.

Is Ian leaving Chatsworth Estate?

Meanwhile, one more Gallagher figures out that Mickey is gay on the season’s second to last Shameless — and he turns that deduction into an attempt to keep Ian from leaving Chatsworth. At this point, maybe Mickey should try to get himself adopted by the Gallaghers. They know him a lot better than the Maguires do.

Meanwhile, Beverly is back to cause trouble on Eureka, and it looks like she knows the truth about Dr. Grant. This season, we saw Kevin after a long period without him even being mentioned. Now, Beverly is back. Dare I hope Eureka will keep picking up abandoned story threads and we’ll finally learn the secrets of the artifact?

I’m curious to see if Eureka goes anywhere with Larry who seems to be nursing a crush on Dr. Grant. I know Larry has come off as a coded gay to some readers and maybe, for once, Eureka could offer a gay character who is more than comic relief.

Is Annie ready for ehr on stage debut?

Annie meets up with a burned-out psychic who now pretends to connect people with departed loved ones on Saturday’s Being Human. However, things get personal when it turns out that Annie’s mom is in the audience of one of his shows.

Meanwhile, George and Mitchell’s new relationships hit new problems as George’s first chance to attend a parent-teacher conference with Sam happens on the night of a full moon. Lucy, meanwhile, has to decide between Kemp’s work against the evil in the world and the potentical chance of helping Mitchell reform.

Saturday also has a new Curb Appeal: The Block, where John helps two recent-transplants from New York update their front yard, as well as a new episode of Danielle Fishel taking on the week in pop culture in The Dish.
