The Week in Gay TV: "Death" leaves town, a daily dose of Nate Berkus and Bravo is serving "Just Desserts"

Welcome to another edition of The Week in Gay TV, your guide to the shows fighting over space on your DVR. It's especially true now as the fall season gets going with more series getting ready for their debut, including 90210, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Nate Berkus' new daytime talk show.

Friday brings the finale of Death Comes to Town, which starts with Dusty being caught in the compromising position from the end of last week’s episode, thereby shocking the town of Shuckton. (Say that ten times fast.)

Of course, this finale should also bring an answer to the mystery of who killed Mayor Bowman, as well as a confrontation between Death and Ricky. Get your cocktail shaker and prepare yourself a power shake for the action.

It’s going to be hard to miss the Stand Up 2 Cancer fundraiser for cancer research, as it will be airing on all four major broadcast networks and several cable channels. There’s a long list of celebrities (including Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet and Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day) scheduled to appear in the hour-long broadcast.

Friday also has the season finale of Eureka, which sees Dr Grant attempt to return to his own time so that he can change his future (otherwise known as our present), which only ends up creating paradoxes that — wait for it — end up threatening the world.

I already hear my partner complaining about how paradoxes give him headaches. I better prepare a second power shake for that.

After taking Labor Day off (that was a tough cliffhanger to face just before a two-week gap) Being Human returns with a new episode on Saturday. Kemp’s plans continue this week as Nina tries to convince George to seek Kemp’s cure. I’m getting the feeling Herrick’s going to look like a cakewalk in comparison to Kemp’s villainy.

Former Real Housewives of... er, whatever city she’s from, Danielle Staub visits Danielle Fishel on Saturday’s episode of The Dish. It’s going to take a lot for Staub’s appearance to be as much fun as when Dance Your Ass Off finalist Michael and host Mel B appeared last week:

Saturday also brings Mandrake, the latest SyFy original movie. This one features man-eating trees so, yeah, it should be as campy as every other SyFy movie.

Meanwhile, this week’s Celebrity Ghost Stories features a couple of gay-favs as former pop star Debbie Gibson and Sex and the City alum Willie Garson share their stories.

Saturday also sees John Gidding and his team help another homeowner in a new Curb Appeal: The Block.
