Queerview Television Guide (Thursday, September 9 2010)

When it debuted last year, there weren't particularly high expectations for Kevin Williamson's new series The Vampire Diaries. Thankfully, the show turned out to be more Dawson's Creek than Hidden Palms, quickly becoming one of last season's more interesting new shows. VDreturns tonight for a second season.

Meanwhile, the drama continues for Luke on today's As the World Turns. Be sure to join us for a liveblog (one of our last) starting at 2PM Eastern!

I'm putting Y&R on today's queerview because of the way yesterday's episode ended — Phillip and Rafe bumping into each other at Billy and Victoria's wedding, which was just beginning. It looks likely we'll see them again today. Either that, or we'll be joking about Y&R's gay characters' ability to enter a party and disappear before it gets going.

As the World Turns (CBS) Check local listings
Today sees Noah trying to be supportive of Luke in his time of grief. Meanwhile, Lily and Holden break the news to Reid's uncle. Hopefully, there will also be more of John and Lucinda so that I can imagine Doug Marland is writing their scenes via ouija board.

The Vampire Diaries (CW) 8:00 PM EDT
Hopefully, I'll have reason to include The Vampire Diaries in the Queerview with more frequency. After all, Kevin Williamson has talked about wanting to include a gay character and a late addition like that wouldn't be unusual. Jack McPhee didn't show up until the second season of Williamson's Dawson's Creek. In the meantime, there's the fun of watching Nina Dobrev sink her teeth into a double role. Need to catch up on this show? Check out: reader Alessar's Vampire Diaries recaps in AE's forums.

Project Runway (Lifetime) 9:00 PM EDT
Michael Kors takes the remaining designers on a sea cruise before letting them know that this week's challenge will have them teaming up to create resort wear. I'm worrying that this challenge will get Mondo to join the Michael Costello hate train.

One the Road with Austin & Santino (Lifetime) 10:30 PM EDT
Austin and Santino's head to wine country, where they will be helping a woman get ready for a big birthday celebration.

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central) 11:00 PM EDT
The next stop for Meghan McCain's book tour is a visit to The Daily Show.. McCain has been branding herself the moderate future of the Republican party and using her support of gay equality to prove that. Hopefully, Jon Stewart will give her a more challenging interview than other shows she's visited.

Daytime Preview for Friday, September 10

Live with Regis and Kelly (syndicated) Check local listings
Gay-fave Anderson Cooper will be sitting in the guest-host's chair tomorrow morning. The bad news? Tomorrow's guest list includes Kate Gosselin.
