"Revenge" Episode 114: My Two Dads

"You're my prettiest co-star since Nicolette"

This week's episode was the the set-up for next week's Fire & Ice & Murder ball, but there were a few interesting moments, starting with the introduction of Grandpa Grayson (played by William Devane, who knows a thing or two about soapy goodness).

Unfortunately, he doesn't have a lot to do except be disappointed in Conrad for letting the Grayson dirty laundry air out in public, and he gives a pep talk to Declan about how he too started out a poor simpleton, but became rich and powerful (a speech I'm sure Conrad and Daniel heard a few times growing up).

He also delivers this throwaway line that shows he knows exactly who he's dealing with when it comes to his daughter-in-law: "Don't ever let the place you start dictate where you finish. Right, Victoria?"

The main thrust of the show was on Jack's nipples recuperation, and his need to get answers from Amanda about why she left. And he also wants to know why he found the video of her childhood interview with Mason under his bed. And where the hell did she put his Shake Weight?

Jack is out of luck, though, because Emily is one step ahead, and she contacts Amanda and tells her to demand the tape back from him. He refuses, and convinces Nolan to play the tape for him. It shows young Amanda pleading for Mason to find the "dark-haired lady" that was always kissing her daddy. She knows this lady can help them. She was named ... Victoria. Armed with this knowledge, Jack tries desperately to find Amanda again, but she's disappeared.

Furious, Jack races to Grayson Manor to confront Victoria, and that's when numerous cats leap out of various bags.

This sets up various questions going into next week's episode:

Where did Amanda go, and will she make an appearance at the Ball? And if she does, will she ask her Fairy Godmother for bedazzled jeans to wear?

Nolan betrayed Emily by not scrambling the video tape, and letting Jack see it. Does Nolan have a thing for Jack?

Now that Charlotte knows the truth about her paternity, will she become interesting?

Will Declan get completely lost trying to make his way through the college entrance exam?

So Emily actually met Daniel before she moved to The Hamptons. They really need more flashbacks to Revenge: The College Years.

What is Ashley's deal? Could she have more to do with everything that's going on than we're led to believe? And is she headed for Conrad's bed?

Finally, WHO THE HELL STOLE EMILY'S EVIDENCE BOX FROM HER CUBBYHOLE?

Victoria-isms

This week's two greatest Victoria-isms were both visual. First up was during one of her usual passive-aggressive chats with Daniel and Emily, in which she can be seen twirling her hair with her fingers. This is the rich bitch version of Snidely Whiplash twirling his mustache.

"I was hoping we could take a stroll ... near the railroad tracks."

The second great Victoria moment was when she and Charlotte visited the bar. The look on her face as she entered was a combination of revulsion, pity, and abject terror. Her "slumming" ensemble likely came about when she asked herself, "What do poor people wear? .... Turquoise!"

"I've entered the place where all flies come to die."
