Gay Jock Riley (Accidentally) Outs Himself on "Degrassi"

After last week's bachelor auction, in which closeted gay jock Riley placed a winning bid for a date with Zane, we wondered if this meant that Riley was finally taking steps to come out.

Well, we have our answer.

Riley and Zane walk into school talking about their date, and how much they enjoyed it. Zane asks "Is there a sequel?" and Riley smiles and says "Count on it." Awww!

After Zane leaves, BFF Anya walks up and asks Riley how it went. He tells her "I actually managed not to screw it up." Anya asks "when's the big coming-out party?" and Riley says "ixnay on the omincay out gay."

Oh Riley.

Anya asks the logical question "why are you being so secretive? You bought a date with Zane at the bachelor auction. Everybody's already speculating."

Riley says "Let them. I won't confirm or deny until after football season." Anya (being a girl, so she doesn't understand these things) asks "why wait?" and Riley explains that he doesn't want to come out because he wants to win, and it will just create drama (which he endearingly pronounces like "gamma"), the team will lose focus, and they'll lose the final game.

But when the season is over, it'll be Pride Day, and he wants to do something big to show Zane that he knows it's for real. Something big like ....

Anya says "Nothing say big like being crowned King and King," and Riley smiles and agrees "That's big."

Later, Riley enters the computer room and is greeted warmly by Zane. A little too warmly for Riley, who reminds him "The PDA policy is still in effect."

Zane is thoroughly confused. "I can't hug you in public, but you outed us online." Riley says "I did what online?" Zane shows him the computer screen, in which both their names are at the top of the King & Queen nominees.

Oops.

He says "I didn't know it was going online. You have to take that down!." Zane tells him too late, the whole school has seen it. But he smiles and reassures him that everything will be okay, prompting Riley to exclaim "Are you nuts? The whole team is going to be flipping out at the game!"
