Riley Hears the Closet Beckon on "Degrassi." Will He Enter?

We begin where we left off yesterday. Riley asks BFF Anya "Remember the whole 'Riley's coming out of the closet' thing?" She says "Yeah, I read the blog post on AfterElton."

Riley tells her "Well, just forget it ever happened." Anya responds "But I thought you were fired up for being out and proud?" Riley holds up a business card and says "That was before I met a scout from Eastern."

Anya grabs it and exclaims "Eastern? You mean the TIER ONE SCHOOL? That's a dream come true!" Riley says "But if Eastern finds out which team I play for, it becomes a nightmare." Anya nods her head, but asks "Are you sure Eastern would have a problem with it?"

"I'm not about to find out," Riley answers, "It's back in the closet for me."

Oh, Ril ... wait a minute! Chantay walks by and tells Riley how proud she is of what he did yesterday. He asks "What did I do?," and she says there's a a campaign underway to get him and Zane elected Kings of the Dance. Thanks Chantay! Now sashay ... away.

Anya says "Looks like the closet door is bolted from the inside." Riley looks astonished and slowly realizes "Wow, I'm ... actually ... out. But I have my interview at lunch hour. What am I going to do?" Anya tells him the maybe he should think about telling the scout the truth.

At the interview the scout asks "Riley, do you know what perspicacity means?" When he says "No, is it bad?" the scout laughs at him. Hey Riley, do you what "jerkass" means? it's standing next to you! The scout tells him that it means he can see the whole field in one glance, blah, blah, inspirational crap, blah, blah. It's just what Eastern, THE TIER ONE SCHOOL, is looking for."

He hands Riley a folder explaining what Eastern is all about, where the best keggers are, what sorority has the sluttiest girls, etc. Riley takes a look at it, and sadly says "Look, some things don't go together. Oil and water. Cats and dogs. Me and basic comprehension. And Football and gayness. Are you following me now, Scout Vest Hair?"
